"Happily Complicated"

It’s Sunday morning, sunlight slipping through linen curtains. Harry’s in the kitchen making pancakes, humming a Fleetwood Mac tune, curls messy and shirtless. You walk in wearing one of his oversized tees, and he flashes that dimpled grin.

“Morning, love,” he says, handing you a mug of coffee like he was born to do it.

You take a sip and lean on the counter. “Where’s Louis?”

“Still in bed. I think he’s pretending to be asleep so you’ll go wake him up.”

You smirk. “You want me to go wake him up?”

Harry raises an eyebrow. “Depends. Gonna be nice about it?”

You laugh, already heading down the hall. The bedroom door creaks open and there’s Louis, one eye open, pretending not to smile. You crawl beside him, whispering in his ear, “You’re missing pancakes.”

He pulls you closer. “I’m not missing this.”

Before long, all three of you are tangled up in each other, pancakes getting cold in the kitchen—because love, in your house, always comes with extra syrup and a little chaos.

The clock reads 10:12 a.m. by the time you finally stir from the warmth of your bed. Harry’s already gone—his side of the sheets cold—but the scent of him lingers: bergamot, vanilla, and skin. You stretch lazily, only half-surprised when a low voice murmurs beside you.

“Thought you were gonna sneak off on me.”

Louis, propped on an elbow, smirks at you. His voice is rough, sleep-touched. He’s shirtless, messy-haired, and entirely too tempting for a lazy morning. You grin and crawl closer, brushing a kiss to the sharp line of his jaw.

“Just trying to find our husband,” you murmur.

Louis chuckles, and his fingers slide under the hem of your sleep shirt—Harry’s shirt, technically. “Maybe he’s waiting for us to come find him.”

You two make your way to the kitchen together, still tangled up in sleepy kisses and lingering touches. There’s music playing softly, and Harry stands at the stove in nothing but grey sweats, tattoos on full display, back flexing as he flips a pancake. He turns when he hears you, face lighting up.

“Well, look who decided to join the land of the living.”

You walk up behind him, wrapping your arms around his waist, and Louis comes up behind you, pressing kisses along your shoulder.

“Missed you,” Harry says, voice a velvet murmur as he turns and presses a slow, lingering kiss to your lips. Then Louis tugs him into one too—hot, needy, a little possessive.

Pancakes are forgotten.

Back in the bedroom, it’s a blur of mouths and fingers and tangled sheets. Harry takes his time, always so gentle with you, kissing every inch of skin like he’s memorizing it. Louis is rougher, teasing, his hands in your hair, dragging moans out of you like he knows just what to say, just where to touch.

You’re in the middle, quite literally—Harry murmuring praise into your neck, Louis biting your shoulder and groaning your name like a secret. They kiss over your skin, sometimes over each other, a tangle of heat and affection and lust that leaves no part of you untouched.

You lose track of time. Maybe hours pass. Maybe only minutes. It doesn’t matter.

Eventually, you all collapse in a heap of sweat and soft giggles, limbs draped over each other like you’re three pieces of one soul.

Harry brushes a damp curl from your forehead and kisses it. “This,” he murmurs. “This is everything.”

Louis, half-asleep against your chest, mutters, “Better than pancakes.”

You all laugh—and then promptly agree that round two might need to happen before breakfast.

You’re straddling Harry on the couch, your hips grinding slow over the hard line of him beneath his sweatpants. The golden light makes his eyes look molten, jaw tight, curls sticking to his forehead. His hands are firm on your hips, guiding your movement, his voice low and thick.

Louis watches from the edge of the couch, shirt off, lips parted slightly. He’s palming himself through his briefs, eyes flicking between where your bodies move together and the way your mouth opens on a quiet moan.

“You two are so fucking hot,” he mutters, and there’s a raw hunger in his voice that makes your stomach tighten.

Harry pulls you down into a messy, open-mouthed kiss—tongues tangling, his grip tightening, making you feel owned, worshipped. He breaks it off only to whisper at your lips, “Wanna feel you. Need you, now.”

You shift your hips and lift just enough to tug his pants down, freeing him. He’s hard and thick, tip flushed and leaking. You guide him to your entrance, sinking down slow, savoring every inch, your breath catching as he stretches you, fills you completely.

“Fuck,” he groans, head tipping back. “Always so perfect for me.”

Louis moves in behind you then, kneeling on the couch, fingers trailing down your spine, lips brushing your shoulder.

The three of you are tangled on the bed, warm skin, sticky with sweat, lazy hands still exploring. You're propped up against the headboard, legs tucked under you, wearing nothing but a smile and a hunger in your eyes.

Louis is stretched out beside Harry, their lips locked in a deep, filthy kiss. There’s nothing soft about it—Louis is biting, claiming, his fingers tangled in Harry’s curls. And Harry? He’s moaning into it, body pliant, wanting.

You bite your lip, heart thudding, watching them like it’s your favorite movie and you know all the best parts are coming.

Louis pulls back just enough to murmur against Harry’s lips, “Want you on your stomach.”

Harry doesn’t hesitate. He shifts, crawling forward onto his hands and knees, arching his back just enough to show off. His ass is perfect—toned, inviting—and Louis licks his lips as he moves behind him, dragging his hands up the back of Harry’s thighs, across his hips.

Louis sets a pace that’s deep and firm, not rough yet, but commanding. He keeps one hand on Harry’s lower back, the other slipping beneath him, stroking him in time with every thrust. You’re breathless, mesmerized, one hand between your legs, the other gripping the sheets.

Their sounds fill the room—Harry’s soft, desperate moans, Louis’s low grunts, the wet slap of skin on skin. Louis glances at you, eyes locked with yours as he picks up the pace.

TIMELINE: February 2012

Wow. Your eyes are not deceiving you. I actually finally got this timeline done almost 6 months after I posted January 2012. That’s in part to album promo, the holidays, etc., but also due, in large part, to the scope and length of this timeline. As I’ve progressed through 2011 and into 2012, there are much more articles, tweets, pictures and videos to wade through and make sense of.

But I think this one will be worth it.

August 2011 was what I call “bulletproof weeks.” February 2012 had a similar feel. Harry had “broken up” with Caroline at the very end of January (the same day he flew to America to start his American career wow what a coincidence) and Louis and Eleanor were barely half-assing it. These 4 weeks are so important, as I believe they were the last weeks they had where they were able to publicly display the reality and nature of their relationship without a lot of negative consequences.

And they did not hold back.

NOTES:

SKI TRIP PICTURE SOURCES: Louis and Eleanor left for France on their skiing trip the 7th and were gone until the 12th. Louis tweeted the only picture of him and Eleanor together on the last day around 11:15AM. He used twitpic to tweet the picture, which is notable because he only ever uploaded 5 pictures to his twitpic account. He tweeted one of his outfits during the X Factor boot camp in 2010, then didn’t use it again until the summer of 2011 when he tweeted another X Factor related picture while he was at one of the auditions. He then tweeted the 2 pictures he and Eleanor supposedly drew together in November 2011 and this ski picture. In addition, he tweeted a picture earlier in the week using yfrog, the picture service he used much more frequently up until that point. Why switch? Most notably, the picture he tweeted using twitpic was the only picture of him and Eleanor Louis’ account has ever directly tweeted. If you go through the other pictures posted directly on his Twitter, 90% of them are promo-related. Just putting that out there.

VALENTINE’S DAY: To summarize, Harry did go out with Nick and Alexa after Nick’s show on the night of the 14th. In an article from the Daily Mail published on the 17th, it says "After Grimshaw’s show where he interviewed another one of his celebrity pals Alexa Chung, the pair went out on the tiles with Styles." Alexa was on Nick’s show that night and Splash News published the pictures the next morning.

HARRY & NICK: This month marked the beginning of the very public Harry Styles & Nick Grimshaw friendship played out in the press. While they had hung out much less publicly before, the pap events and Harry’s call-ins to Nick’s show began during the days after the Caroline split and leading up to One Direction’s American tour. Most of the articles published around these events portrayed Harry as "out on the prowl” for new ladies.

THEIR SCHEDULE: I just want to point out the craziiness of their schedule this month. They began the month on a promo trip to LA, Louis spent 5 days in France, had a night home, then was off to Sweden and France for 2 days with the band. The band got back late Valentine’s night, then had 2 full promo days in London, then went back to Italy for a day. Harry had LFW events for 2 days in a row. Then, the band went back to France for a day, had the Brits the next day, rehearsals the day after that, more LFW events for Harry, and then flew to America the next day. And the last 6 weeks have been the first time in 24 months they’ve had a time to catch their breath.

AMERICA - THE FIRST 2 DAYS: The first 2 days of the American leg of the Big Time Rush tour were different than the days that followed. They were more subdued…especially the Detroit radio appearance. They seemed comparatively more careful, more willing to appease their handlers and reign it in. But after Detroit, something changed.

AMERICA - WELCOME TO THE HARRY & LOUIS SHOW: Harry & Louis woke up in Toronto on the 26th without any fucks to give if people thought they were in a relationship. The next 4 days seemed a race to outdo the next with iconic moments and tweets and dates and they didn’t let up for anyone or anything.

PUNCH FOR PUNCH: I started these timelines to show the back and forth nature of the February-June 2012: Harry & Louis met every punch with a counter punch and they were ready to fight at the end of this month. The next 4 months were a brawl.
