NEW PROJECT - "Hudson & Maria"

According to articles in Variety and Collider, Rupert Graves is part of the cast of upcoming historical biopic "Hudson & Maria".

Per Variety:

Set during the Opium Wars of 19th-century China, “Hudson & Maria” follows the true story of Hudson Taylor, an English missionary who rejects colonial norms and adopts Chinese language, customs and dress as he seeks to share God’s love in inland China. The story follows him through his missionary work, travelling with his wife Maria and good friend, Wang Laijun. They endure hardship and persecution to tell a powerful story that has become legend.

William Moseley (“Chronicles of Narnia”) will play Hudson Taylor, with Poppy Drayton (“Charmed”) playing his wife, Maria, and Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”) as Hudson’s friend, Wang Laijun.

Also starring in the film are Jeremy Swift (“Ted Lasso”), Tan Kheng Hua (“Crazy Rich Asians”), Rupert Graves (“Sherlock”), Darren Lim (“The Little Nyonya”), Jemma Donovan (“Jimmy”), Catriona Munro (“NCIS: Sydney”), Ben Van Lier (“M3GAN 2.0”), Wang Wei (“Unexpected Falling”), Matt William Knowles (“Son of the South”), Kate Sullivan (“The Season”), Vanessa Yao (“Kung Fu”) and Cedric Gegel (“Capture”).

Production is set to start filming in Malaysia this August.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

I feel like people are gonna have very different opinions of Nolan’s Odyssey depending on their philosophy regarding adaptations.

Like if you think adaptations should stick to the source material as close as possible you’re gonna hate it. But if you’re think stories should updated to in order to say something about the current era you’re gonna like it a lot more

i watched The Odyssey and now i genuinely understand why ancient civilizations kept building temples.

christopher nolan didn't direct a movie. he altered my brain chemistry.

i walked into the theater as one person and left with emotional damage, an existential crisis, and approximately 47 new personality traits.

i'm so unbelievably grateful i happened to exist in the same timeline as this man.

if anyone needs me, i'll be staring at a wall for the next six to eight business months trying to process whatever just happened.
