Happy Thursday!
Friendly Dinner → Brittany + David
David was trying not to get too excited over his dinner with Brittany. After all, they were friends. Just friends. Anything else would be too complicated. He led a simple life and it was better to keep everything in his life simple as well. Brittany might be pretty and funny and smart and sweet, but she was still practically a child and he knew that they weren’t right for each other, even if other parts of his anatomy disagreed. They were just friends and this was just dinner.
Showered, shaved, and wearing a dash of cologne, David walked into the Grill, his eyes searching for that familiar head of blonde hair. Unfortunately, Mystic Falls was over run by blondes and the first girl he tapped was not in fact Brittany, but another girl who had graduated with her. He blushed, muttered a quick apology and took a look around. Finally his eyes spotted her, sitting at the bar. Shaking his head, he made his over to her. “Aren’t you a little young to be drinking in public?”
Tossing her head back a little bit, Brittany let out a chuckle. She smiled at him and crossed her legs, raising her glass to him before taking a sip. "I'm a little young to be drinking period but they don't card here and it's not going to stop me anyway. " With a small laugh, she took a sip and looked him up and down. As the drink warmed her up, the thought occurred to Britt that the scotch she was drinking was older than her. "You clean up nicely, Dave. I haven't seen you outside practices and games before. I mean I already knew you were handsome but you really look nice." Shooting him a wink, the blonde finished her drink and put her glass down on the bar, hopping off the bar stool. "Well? Shall we?"
Friendly Dinner → Brittany + David
Being David's assistant coach had been really good for Britt and she had thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the guy better. They were still just friends, and she hated that it was always at the front of her mind when she was around him, but that never stopped her from flirting. Plus when she blatantly hit on him, David would get flustered and Britt found that beyond adorable. Their age difference wasn't something she noticed anymore, but something told her it was always on his mind. That was one of the reasons she invited him to dinner. Friends had dinner, it was casual, and it wasn't something that would remind him of how young she was.
Looking in her car mirror, she let her hair down and fluffed it out a little bit. They might be just friends, but it doesn't mean that she can't look amazing at the same time. As she put on some lip gloss, she reminded herself that they were friends, just friends. Satisfied with her appearance, she went inside the familiar restaurant. Not seeing David, Brittany sauntered over to the bar and ordered herself a scotch, spinning around to face out and waiting for her friend to arrive.
Call → Brittany + David
David: Sorry, it took me like ten minutes to type that, so I figured a call would be better. Can we make it thirty, I'm all sweaty from working out and I don't smell so great right now.
Brittany: I'm so excited this is finally happening. This is why I texted you in the first place. Thirty minutes is great. Take a shower and I'll see you there!
Text → Brittany + David
David: Sure, I'm starving.
Brittany: I'll meet you there in…twenty?
Text → Brittany + David
Brittany: Hey I'm really bored and also super hungry and you're always fun. Wanna grab dinner at the Grill?
*drinks vodka from a sippy cup*
As fun as that sounds, I’m trying to cut down on my alcohol intake. I can’t be alert if I’m always drunk.
Somehow I'm better when I'm drunk. Must be a Saltzman thing.
So every other day?
Yeah pretty much. You should start coming over and getting drunk with me. We'll make cocktails and play country music and sit on my front porch and catcall at people who are unfortunate enough to walk by.
Isn’t that like an everyday thing now or…?
Not every day. Just the ones when I don't have anything else to do...
My name is Brittany S Pierce and I am drunk on a Tuesday night
I’m more of a small town guy, but I would love to see the city. Thanks, Britt. If you ever need a break in the city there’s always a place for you with me and Clair in Fredericksburg. Last year I was undecided because I was tossing around some ideas, but I’m gonna take a chance and go for illustration.
You feel more small-town than big city. If you stayed in New York for too long, the place might eat you alive. Illustration? That's impressive! I'm so excited for you, Sammy!
It’s seems like a great city. Not sure if I could handle living there, but I told Care when everybody parts way again I’d like to come visit you guys. Get a taste of the big apple for myself. College is pretty great! I struggled with math and English but pulled through it. Being back here is actually making me miss it.
It's not a horrible place to live, but it certainly takes some getting used to. Our apartment is always open to you, Sammy! Do you know what you want to major in yet?
That’s awesome! How was NYU? I’m doing pretty good too. Just kinda weird being back with everybody, so I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things around here.
I was actually at Columbia. But I dropped out after a month and stayed in New York. I love the city. I miss it already. Hey how was college?? That's kind of how I feel. It's beyond weird just being back here after a full year away.
