“Climate change clears path for new mosquito in Massachusetts. It can carry Zika, dengue and other tropical diseases.” Louisa read the news headline verbatim from the screen of her laptop with a somewhat uncomfortable expression on her face. “I was just trying to check the weather for the trip but…that’s good to know too, I guess,” she spoke dryly, mentally adding tropical diseases to the list of things she was reasonably concerned about when it came to trekking through the swamps of Bridgewater with her classmates the following week. “On the plus side, since it’s going to be seventy-eight percent humidity or higher, we won’t have to worry about getting cold if we capsize in our kayaks…we’ll just have to worry about insect bites and full body rashes,”
