hi! I'm a relatively new Star Wars fan who has only recently started to interact with the fandom.

I've liked the SW movies casually since the prequel days, but in the past couple years I've started to get a lot more invested, watching the shows, reading the books and playing the games.

currently, I'm just a fandom leech, not contributing anything. but I'd like to start writing or doing art (3D art most likely)

video games are my main hobby, so I've been having a ton of fun going through the massive back catalog of SW games! here is a list of games I've played and am currently playing

some of my favorite characters are nd-5, general grievous, qyzen fess, orla jareni, hk-47, and sskeer

1: I may occasionally like/reblog NSFW content such as art and fics. do not follow or interact with me if you're a minor.

2: I'm here to have a good time reading and talking about my interests. I'm not here to get in arguments over star wars opinions. if you're demeaning or hostile towards people because of the things they like, I'm going to block you.

3: I am catering my tumblr for a positive star wars experience. i want to see people talking happily about things they like, not ranting about things they don't. this means I will block people who regularly post extreme negativity about star wars. it doesn't mean i think you're a bad person. don't take it personally.

I said this before and I’m gonna say this again - I really wish Disney’s Star Wars would stop creating new alien species and give more representation to the ones they already have. There are a TON of species that have little to no representation. Why not use the perfect opportunity to finally show more of them? I’m glad we have another Aleena character (Vario), to remind us that not every Aleena is peaceful and that looks can be deceptive, but come on. Like, if they wanted Eeko-Dio Daki to be a reptile-like species, why on earth did they have to invent a new one for that? Why not use Vurks or Trandoshans? We’ve seen so little of the Vurks so far and I think a Trandoshan Jedi Master is a great idea.

Same with Rheena Sul. She’s a Padlom, according to Wookieepedia. Again, a completely new species, just like with Daki. But WHY not make her a Theelin? Theelin would be such an obviously good choice for her, aaah!

What is this constant urge to create new races for new SW movies or TV shows, which will eventually just end up piled onto the huge stack of old ones, represented by only one or two characters?

there is a trandoshan jedi master in the High Republic series (Sskeer) but I'd love to see one in an actual mainline animated/live action SW thing. or if not a jedi master, at least any morally decent trandoshan. all the trandoshans we get on screen are evil bounty hunters or evil poachers or whatever was going on with those trandos in TBoBF that got attacked by Krrsantan for no reason (one of them got his arm ripped off with no provocation but dont worry he was evil and toootally deserved it).

and obv trandoshans are just one example. so many cool aliens species are underutilized in star wars

I think Galactic Racer is going to be the point I start getting back into playing through the Star Wars back catalogue. I fell off it at some point but I still have a ton of games left to go through and I want to get back to it at some point.

last star wars game I finished was apprentice of the force.... 6 months ago??? good lord. time please stop moving so quickly

I've just started playing Four Against Darkness, my first time ever playing a tabletop RPG, and immediately after my first adventure I started thinking "I wonder if anyone has made a star wars module for this". and it turns out there are several! i'll have to try them out once I'm more familiar with just playing the regular game

I need to get back on my star wars game quest. haven't played one in quite some time. maybe once galactic racer or zero company come out that'll be my excuse to get back into them and try to knock some more SW games off my list. squadrons, X-wing, ESB on NES (but that one is ridiculously hard)

When she reminds ND-5 about the spike again his processes bristle with irritation. The bolt's protocols forcing parallel tactical calculations because if she kept trying to scheme he'd be forced to shoot her. From the hip, the barrel would need a twenty-four degree tilt.

And then she's there on the Revelator. For him.

Leading him into that trap, energy surging through him, locking his motor functions. As his knees hit the deck he is struck by a relieving peace knowing he won't kill her —dashed as quickly as it sparks. He lunges for her, a vise on her fragile arm; her eyes are frightened, wide and frantic, a terrible memory.

Hoisting her small human body, the bolt forces him to calculate the optimal force necessary to snap her neck on impact with the deck. Until a laser blast, searing the air between them, delivers clarity. Its residual thermal signature a glow blooming from her hand.

Like an offering. Light. Lightness.

Killing his former master becomes effortless. Before, the mere thought would have threatened to cripple his systems, but with the restraining bolt gone—the impulse is unimpeded. The urge unpunished. A lightning twitch of his wrist and the blaster shot crumples Jaylen to the ground.

He doesn't dwell on the liberation. Not with the necessary escape from the Star Destroyer through a hail of laser fire. He doesn't think about it when they make it to the Trailblazer and into the chaos of battle with Kay at the controls swearing through her teeth–dodging missiles and cussing with elation when the shots land. TIEs turned to glittering shrapnel.

Only when they enter the jump toward Cantonica, hyperspace streaming around them, does he reflect on his situation. The bolt is gone. Jaylen is gone. He is free to choose. It is a different perspective to suddenly be on the other side of something he hadn't been permitted to consider.

Freedom.
