If Bella                        can play, I’m sure you can. ”               Alice nodded at her, reassuring her statement.                        “ Oh, I know! She’s impossible, the only way                        I’m ever able to dress her up is if it’s for my                        brother. ”               She rolled her eyes, a look of discontent took               occupancy upon her features.                        “ But I love her all the same. ”

"I'm sure I can manage it as  long as I learn how to use a  bat —and catch a ball."       Chelsea wondered if she would be       terrified of the ball if it ever came her       way.  "The only time I've seen her  dressed up was a wedding  and even then she wasn't  nearly as dressed up as  everyone else."

          Relaxing? She didn’t think it was relaxing. There           were too many people she couldn’t talk to, and           the smell of humans was really overwhelming if           she stayed too long; it made her thirsty. Nessie           made a face.

      Chelsea laughed uncontrollably with the       face Renesmee was giving her. She took       that as an absolute no chance in hell. "Fine, fine. No shopping. What do you want to do besides shopping?"

"You must be Chelsea. My mom has mentioned you. I’m Leah, and I’m not as bad as they say.”

"Yup, that's me. It's nice  to meet you Leah and I  really haven't heard  anything about you. "

          She didn’t like candy, but she didn’t blame Cousin           Chelsea for trying. Candy didn’t taste sweet enough.           She liked chocolate, though. She liked chocolate a           lot. But she’d heard that promise from Auntie Alice           before — actually, she’d heard both promises — and           she wasn’t going to fall for it.

"You aren't going to budge are you? Why are you so against shopping it's fun and relaxing. Please you get clothes that make you look wonderful and pretty — not that you aren't pretty already."

          She loved her family, a lot. It was why she let her           Auntie Alice take her shopping so often. She has           too many clothes, and she couldn’t wear any of           them, because they were all frilly and getting them           dirty would be bad. She didn’t want more. No thank           you.

"We could stop at a candy store and you can buy as much as you want?"          Of course Chelsea would use candy on          a kid to try and get her to go shopping          with her. "I'll let you pick out your own clothes — as long as they are cute."

          What was that? She couldn’t hear you over           how fast she ran away. No shopping for her,           thank you.

"Renesmee, hey! Where are you going? It's only shopping."        Chelsea laughed watching the little girl        run as fast as she could away from her.

"Renesmee, how do you feel about shopping with me? We can buy your mommy something pretty."

          She sees you two, plotting against Momma. She’s           telling. Or she’s running away before she’s next —           whichever keeps her from shopping.

                     “ Partly because I ran off from there.                                Oh, I’m from Paris, France.            Forks, Washington. Okay.            Is this ——— America? ”

"Why would you run away? Don't your parents miss you? — Yes it is in America. It's not a very big town which is probably why you haven't heard of it."

                       “ Mhm! Being short and quick comes in handy — y’know?                        Although, it can become quite difficult when they’re                        practically throwing the ball over your head. ”               Alice was positively beaming. She adored any chance              she was able to go shopping, especially with someone else.                        “ Oh — ! Wonderful! Bella’s a bit of a sore thumb when I                        try to do anything with her related to fashion. ——                        We’re going to be great friends. ”

"I'm not sure, I've never played baseball — or any sport for that matter."          Chelsea began to laugh at how pathetic          that made her sound. She wasn't a girly          girl, was she? "I bought her a dress from New Orleans and she refuses to wear it. I paid a lot for it too. I'm glad I finally met someone who understands fashion is important."

              Alice emitted a light laugh when she saw the               other girl’s cheeks light up — red as a firework.                        “ I don’t really blame you! It’s gorgeous here,                        just a little… boring, I suppose.               A shrug of  the shoulders follows suit.                        “ As for fun, well —, most of the activities are                        up in Port Angeles, as well as the nightlife.                         Baseball is fun, and, personally, I’m a shopper.                        Do you like shopping? ”

"It's actually quite peaceful here compared to New Orleans. — Wait you play baseball?"          Now Chelsea was surprised. She couldn't          picture Alice playing any kind of sport, not          in a million years. "I do. I've been trying to get Bella to go shopping with me but she refuses. Maybe we could go some time. That's if you aren't to busy Alice."

                       “ Why’d you come here? Just for the schooling? ”               Alice pursed her lips as her eyebrows furrowed,               realizing how rude her statement sounded.                        “ — I mean —, is there any particular reason                        that schooling here in Washington sounded good? ”               Nice save, Alice. Not.               Alice stepped into the home, sitting down on the couch               and shaking her head politely.                        “ No thank you, I’m fine. ”

"I actually just really wanted to be back in Forks so I applied for the closest school I could think of."        Chelsea's cheeks turned a bright red in        embarrassment after confessing that to        Alice.   "What do you do here for fun? You seem like someone who knows how to have a good time even if there isn't a lot to do."

                       “ Sometimes it can be a bit of a drag,                        especially when you make friends                        somewhere and have to leave them.                        But hey, y’gotta do what y’gotta do,                        right? ”              Alice scrunched up her nose and shook her head,             smiling all the while.                        “ There are some, but not as often as                        I’d like, and especially not as often as                        New Orleans. There are some that                        go on a lot down in La Push, but I don’t                        take the trip down there regularly. ”              Alice bit her lip, peering around Chelsea and into              the Swan’s small living room.                        “ May I come in? ”

"That would be horrible. I understand it though I left most of my friends back home to go to school here."        Chelsea gave a slight nod of her head        in agreement. She understood all to well. "Oh my — Where are my manners! Please come in Alice, make yourself at him. Would you like a drink?"
