reasons to read oscar wilde: the glorification of people who slack off all the time, hate effort and obligations, and don’t want to talk to their family
all bugs can be organized into one of three categories: homies, chillers, and haters. hornets and wasps are haters. mosquitos are haters. most spiders are homies cuz they eat shitty bugs, some spiders are chillers cuz they dont really do anything, but also some spiders are haters because they’ll kill you. learn to tell the difference. bees are homies but they become haters if you fuck with them. most beetles are chillers but if they’re the kind of beetle that flies really fast at your face then they’re haters.

In a simple experiment, researchers at the University of Chicago sought to find out whether a rat would release a fellow rat from an unpleasantly restrictive cage if it could. The answer was yes.
The free rat, occasionally hearing distress calls from its compatriot, learned to open the cage and did so with greater efficiency over time. It would release the other animal even if there wasn’t the payoff of a reunion with it. Astonishingly, if given access to a small hoard of chocolate chips, the free rat would usually save at least one treat for the captive — which is a lot to expect of a rat.
The researchers came to the unavoidable conclusion that what they were seeing was empathy — and apparently selfless behavior driven by that mental state.

OH MY.
this just in: rats are more humane than humans
Rats are more compassionate than Republicans, pass it on.
Rocks are more compassionate than Republicans.

Look at this, and remember it next time someone says that the gay community survived the AIDS epidemic.
We didn’t survive, we started over. We lost all but an entire generation.
This is what “we survived Reagan, you’ll survive Trump” looks like. No, we didn’t.
The AIDS crisis is a reminder that no matter how cool we are in a moment (like during the height of disco), the instance shit goes south for us cishet people will let us die.
Respectability politics is Russian roulette.
Ayyyyy
listen i am 100000% in support of goyim speaking out againt israel ofc and like pointing out how boycotting ww isn’t antisemitic and whatnot (bc it isn’t), but every time i see a non-jew say something along the lines of “stupid people keep acting like anti-zionism is antisemitism and it isn’t” i get really uncomfortable lol
like that’s not an incorrect statement, anti-zionism ISN’T inherently antisemitic, but honestly? sometimes people say things that they think are anti-zionist but actually ARE antisemitic, or they use anti-zionism knowingly as an excuse to be antisemitic. and even if that weren’t the case i really don’t like seeing goyim get so up in arms about what they think does or doesn’t constitute antisemitism lmao
like you can very effectively make your point and discuss why being vocally anti-israel/anti-zionist is important and necessary and even discuss how it’s about israel as an illegitimate settler-colonial state and not about jewish people, but to flippantly be like “anti-zionism isn’t even antisemitism smh” is so dismissive and then when jews do try to call out antisemitism within anti-zionist spaces we’re ignored and our concerns are eschewed so maybe like…if you’re not jewish stop acting like you’re an authority on what constitutes antisemitism, stop making blanket statements about what is or isn’t antisemitic, and know your place. please continue to speak out against israel but if you’re a non-palestinian goy you need to take a step back and not speak over other people because it’s not helpful to literally anybody
this is ok for anyone to reblog just pls don’t add commentary if you’re a non-palestinian goy
