on days like today, with the wind being particularly fitful and lots of people out and about, kiki wouldn’t be flying. back in the little seaside town where she came from, she used to get pulled over by police officers for doing it, even had one of them threaten to call her parents. it had scared her enough to keep to the higher gusts, away from the world and finding company among the birds.
dc was different, though. at least, she wanted it to be. that was why she used her broom as much as possible, flying just above peoples heads so as not to accidentally kick them, but not so high she was unnoticeable. she liked being a witch, and the attention that came with it.
as she rounded a corner, a gust of wind caught the tail end of her broom, making her gasp out loud. it drew the attention of the patrons below as she lost control for a moment, her mind not going to the wind being at fault, but someone below. it had to be, that was how it always happened.
shakily landing, kiki dismounted, red bow a little askew and black dress catching the wind as she did so. “ hey, what gives ? ” the unfortunate one in her sight was now the subject of her accusation, the people around them stopping. “ you could’ve killed me y’know ! don’t you have any respect for witches ? ” she knew she wasn’t that big a deal, not with people just weirdly showing up with other sorts of powers, but she wanted to be treated with respect.
Liv looked up at the other the moment the noise caught her attention, her brow line furrowed for a moment as she watched the other yell. Now she studied witchcraft but seeing it always impressed Liv. Part of her wished she had powers even though unknown to her. She was one. “Hey, try not to bite his head off.”
