                 his whole expression had changed upon seeing who he had spilled the drink on. heart began to race in his chest , body producing sweat on the palms of his hands & his words unable to even form. natalia was his best friend , legitimately his best friend , but yet her presence produced the worst of his nerves as all he wanted to do was non-platonic things. ‘‘ fuck. ’’ he muttered before racking his brain for his asl teachings. ‘‘ are you okay , though ? ’’  he mouthed while his hands worked in a —– semi-correct manner.

Tali reached out and re-positioned his hand with ease, knowing he wasn’t that far off from the correct form.  ‘no harm no foul.. just a little red.’ she explained her mouth mouthing the words as she let out a silent chuckle as she showed off her reddened skin.  ‘I’ve been spilling cocoa on myself for so long, don’t worry.’

beer bottle in his hand and looking down at the ground. elijah is a bit shaken by the most recent unfortunate event. things were happening all around seattle, it was one of the reasons he’d been deployed to this specific city. but this time, this tragedy affected someone he actually knew. sheriiff swan had helped him out plenty of times when he first started working. he can only imagine what he must be going through, not daring to think how he’d be feeling if it had one of his family members instead. “what kind of sick, twisted being could do something like that? the girl was known a bit around the city… although i’m not sure it had any relation to prior events it just… feels different.”

Wyatt was nursing his own drink, a soft yet swift shrug of his shoulders.  “Plenty of sick fucks in the world.” He replied, “And recently it seems Seattle is full of them.” Wyatt could feel for the poor police officer. Having lost his own brother before even getting a chance to see him again, so he did feel some sort of sympathy.

his anxiety is at an all time high. it wasn’t his place, but the begging was driving him crazy. he would never vocalise his disagreement, but the human was the last person that really deserved death, especially after six years. alec wondered if she even remembered much of edward, but as she pleaded for freedom, he knew she remembered. everyone in the court had noticed what he had done, surely. he just hoped that it wasn’t an issue, that others would find her screaming and begging as tiring as he did. it wasn’t even annoyance to him, it was envy, that desperation she had to live is something that alec had lost centuries ago. ripped out of his thoughts by footsteps on the marble flooring, alec looked over to the other. “i do not wish to talk about it… i- please, just something else. what had happened is past tense.” he mumbled, barely looking at the other before shoving his face back in the book he wasn’t really reading. 

Jane took a deep breathe, the whole guard was a buzz with news and her eyes were only focused on one thing.  Her brother.  Taking each stride with two extra steps, she found him a bit caught up in his own head.  Draping an arm over his shoulder and giving him a reassuring squeeze.  “I know you don’t like talking, but what do you need?” She asked with a sigh, “Would you like to join me on a walk, or perhaps we could go see a moving picture.”

esme was desperate to help but she felt absolutely useless right now. a girl was dead, people kept going missing around seattle, and the town was crawling with the volturi who showed no signs of leaving any time soon. she wanted normalcy, for people to feel okay again, but she felt absolutely helpless. looking up from her notebook, esme bit on the end of her pen, a nervous habit she had picked up over time. “how do you protect someone that doesn’t even know the gravity of the whole situation…” she mumbled. “i just wish i could wrap everyone up in blankets and hugs until peace has returned. everything’s become so complex, no one needs that.”

Harper placed a cup of coffee in front of the other, a soft look on her face.  “Sometimes you can only protect someone with all you can and hope it is enough.” She stated, “It is not your responsibility to keep everyone safe, and sometimes the best you can do.”

The display that Jane put on only served to irritate Sulpicia and she grabbed her arm as Jane turned back to face her. “Daughter, I expect you to behave in public no matter the circumstances and unless you wish to not be allowed out unless your powers are needed I advise you listen,” Sulpicia whispered feverishly. She loved the twins as if they were her own but this was unacceptable in such a crowd. “Are we clear, my love?”

There was an obvious switch in the vampires demeanor at the comment of being locked away in a tower.  A mix of emotions battling against her usual composed form.  The statement from the other obviously cutting deeper then intended.  An obvious crack in her armor, as her usual bored tone was replaced with a reflective tone that rose and cracked. “Let us get one thing straight, though i feel your statement has already made it quite clear.  You are not my mother, nor do i need one who would threaten to lock someone away.” She sneered, “Cause if you even tried to seal me away, you can inform Aro why his favorite guardsman left..”  She spent her human life cowering in fear of the rest of the world, shielded away for her own protection and she would rather die, her final death, then ever experience that again.   “Then we can see how much weight your voice actually carries in the court.” Her words were harsh and cruel, and that is what she wanted.  She wanted to hurt Sulpicia, she wanted her to realize her mistake and she didn’t even care if she was stepping out of turn for once in her immortal life.

               it happened so quickly , one moment he was holding onto the hot chocolate in his small take-out cup & the next it was all over the person across from him. ‘‘ oh —— fuck. ’’ was all the human could say as he stood there in shock. whoever thought a self-pour hot cocoa machine was intelligent , with aaron moore attending , clearly was not the most educated person on the earth to walk. clumsy was his second nature , unable to hold a conversation with most that came around him , & tripping over his own feet as common as it was for him to brush his teeth every morning. ‘‘ i —- is there a stand where i can buy you something new ? ’’ he muttered , looking around frantically. ‘‘ i swear i had a good grip on it , & that i double checked the lid. ’’ okay maybe he didn’t double check , but as if that mattered now , right ?

Natalia was cleaning the counter, when a large jolt of hot chocolate mixed water splashed against her uniform shirt and reddening her skin.  Her face contorting for a brief second in pain, before her eyes reaching up and meeting the eyes of Aaron.  A flash of red danced across her cheeks as she just shook her head. ‘it is fine.’ she signed, ‘accidents happen.’

             the whole town had been on endless stress , she could read it on all of her pack’s faces as she force-fed them on the daily basis. something about —– a war of vampires , or something about the cullen kid going to a group of vampires called the voltini ( of course , emily didn’t associated herself much with the cullen clan , or supernatural beings outside of the brief knowledge of what needed to be known ). letting out a huffed breath , smoked air moving around her nostrils , the human looked around her in a sense of a mission. ‘‘ come on —- , ’’ she finally broke the silence to the person next to her , hands meeting in the middle of her chest to form the normality of a begging gesture. ‘‘ please —– please , come on the ferris wheel with me. i mean , who really has the ability to say that got to see the beauty of a snow-y town & event from the top of the ferris wheel ? it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity , & it’s completely okay if you want to go back to pouting or being bored & annoyed afterwards. ’’

The smell that clung to every aspect of the human, is what drew Jane to her at first.  It was such an unfamiliar scent but one that repulsed her.  Yet there was a distinct human scent underneath, she just had to shift through the filthy outdoors smell.  Her eyes connecting with the human she was talking too, a sneer look that would break even the will of the strongest human.  “I’ll come with you.” Jane spoke up as the other ran off, putting on her most innocent voice.

maya looks a shade of green, and somehow pale too at that – she had just gotten off the ferris wheel and was certain she looked as sick as she felt. it had been alright at first, until she had gotten so high off the ground and well.. then she had just wanted to see the ground again. she narrowly misses someone and her gaze turns apologetic. she stumbles slightly, but somehow manages to recover. “ sorry, i just need some hot chocolate and to sit down. me and heights are apparently a no go. “

Tali wasn’t sure if handing over hot cocoa to the other was a smart idea.  The three shades of green that flashed around the others face.  ‘do you want to sit in the back, just in case?’ she offered, even if it was only for employees.  She knew, if she puked she wouldn’t want to do it in front of others.

Billie recognized Tali from one of her (many) stops at the hot coco station - she knew that this girl had earned herself a cigarette. She held out her lighter and the open carton of cigarettes for Tali to take with half a smirk on her face. “Sure, but I must warn you - they are terrible for you.”

‘Plenty of things are bad for you.’ Tali stated with a shrug of her shoulders, it was a nasty habit she picked up from her older sibling.  Many of her attempts to quit only proving fruitless when the stress set back into her life.  ‘it is all about picking what you want to die buy.’

What a luxury must it have been to never feel stressed.  Jasper snorted a bit to himself, although still making sure to come off as respectful towards the guard member.  At least Edward wasn’t around to see his true thought, or Aro.  “Then where are you at right now, inconvenienced or not?”  Brows pushed together as he looked over at the other vampire.  “Would hate for Forks to have treated you negatively during your visit.”

Jane was idling by rocking back and forth on her heels.  A habit she couldn’t shake from her human life, she had a hard time staying completely still most times.  “I’m dreadfully inconvenienced, but it will be resolved shortly.” She added with a bit of hope in her words, and way too much confidence.   At his final statement she just rolled her eyes, “I’m avoiding that dreadful place as much as possible.”

as the nineties kids would say… yikes. he was sure his expression betrayed the thought. “using these innocent people as bait?” his gaze couldn’t help but find, almost too easily, a family a few meters away. the mother was struggling to wrangle an unruly toddler, and the father was focusing his efforts on pushing a pram and laughing. they were… undeserving, of what they had wandered so cluelessly into. “even you have to know how wrong that is, jane.”

Jane’s eyes darted up to him, “If you do your job, no one will die, if some do well--.” She glanced back toward the crowd. “They are only human, it isn’t like they are anything special.” She added with a shrug.  Crimson eyes turning back toward him, eyes trailing him up and down.  “I mean, if you care so much about your innocents, you can always leave the guard-- i’m sure Aro would have a lovely parting gift for you.” She added with a sneer.

“is this really your… scene?” the slang feels clunky and unfamiliar on his tongue, but that’s only because it IS. edward had given up all attempts at appearing a regular teenager about the time he had joined the ranks of the volturi ; but whatever freedom of a charade he had found in italy, he had to backtrack quite completely, upon return. there’s some SUSPICION to his gaze, when he fixes it upon jane. a hint of mistrust, when it comes to aro’s favorite child. but unlike her brother, edward shows her…- the respect that is due, even if it’s difficult to fathom. “a winter wonderland created with… humans in mind?” 

Jane looked even more petite against the stature of Edward, her eyes scanning the crowd.   “A large gathering of humans, what better way to seek out the newborns.” She commented, “This is like ringing a massive dinner bell, one or more are bound to show their faces and when they do.” A devilish grin grew on her features.  Once the newborns are gone, she and the rest of the guard can return home.  Far away from the praddle of this town.
