wait i just realized, if the jettwins were born before the war even started in full force, would that make them older than even Optimus?
Did they maybe have the refinery accident kinda shortly into their adulthood and it just took like actual millennia to put them back together? (with safeguard presumably being unveiled in the 50 years team prime was in stasis)
Or were they frozen in time some other way? (*Looks at Skyfire* like father, like sons, i suppose lol) Maybe they werenāt ever even in an orphanage as we think of one, but the Cybertronian version of an āorphanageā means they get cryogenically frozen till their bodies reach adulthood, it may take longer but thereās less resources needed to take care of them when thereās already a war going on. Which is why they still seem pretty naive when we see them in the present? No wonder their parents were pretty pissed at Magnus lol, kill him
I dunno, iām just spitballing here in case no one, even you, realized it lol. Or maybe thereās a third explanation i didnāt even think of! Or even just āyeah theyāre pretty old despite the way they behaveā lol

So about that; in the AU (think i mentioned it like once or twice on another asks(?) there's not just one way in which a transformer can be born. Some are built from a protoform mold, some are cold constructed, and some are carried, like the twins.
Since the twins were carried, -which unlike the other processes, is completely biological- it meant there was no initial programming to their frames (ocupation, knowledge, personality, mentality, body structure, etc) and had to be taught everything externally by their carrier and sire.
Their progress was much similar to that of a human child than a cybertronian, who's entire code could be uploaded into their memory without much issue.
Basically, they grew up as the war progressed. And although they've matured by now, they still got much to learn (being neglected and all.)
As for how is it that OP appears older than them; after the war, little to nobody carried, so most were cold constructed. That included Optimus, who's frame was brought to Cybetron complete, already knowing who he was and what to do, only needing training to develop his skills further, just like Bee and Bulkhead.
In a nutshell: The twins were born into the world without a clue, and are still growing into themselves because they lack programming. OP was constructed, programmed, and trained for a purpose.
OP is fully grown. The twins are still fratboys lol.
