My gf is so aesthetic lol
I’m sorry to have to word-vomit all over your dash, but I’ve been wondering, lately, about some things. Like if anyone else gets this overwhelming sensation of fulfillment from a show…?
Or a movie… Or game? If anyone else becomes completely hindered by their own fascination with the lore of something, or the structure of something’s story - a slice of media maybe with characters you can not seem to get out of your head so much that it interrupts your own flow of creativity. -And that you recognize it as not something that is necessarily good or bad, but just.. a hindrance. It’s an annoyance. You don’t resent the things you enjoy, but you wish you had a stronger will to best the overwhelming nature of your enjoyment of these things because they are crippling you creatively and there is no “out”. I’m not sure how else to explain it because it’s not necessarily a feeling that evokes anger or jealousy or anything overtly negative. It’s not even associated with the expectations of creating similar media, or “on-par” media. It’s just the idea that this thing exists, that you enjoyed it, and on some level are unsure how to proceed because now its the only thing clouding your creative vision. (Which is where I’m sure fan art or fic comes in. But what about beyond that?) It might just be because I’m completely neurotic, but when I finish a game or a movie, I’m left with no energy, no way to connect my original ideas together, and just kind of find myself stuck in fandom hell and I’m sure I’m not the only one out there. Does anyone else get this?
The belief that one’s own view of reality is the only reality is the most dangerous of all delusions.
