For the nature portion of the final, I made an arrangement with some flowers and pinecones. When I went to my backyard, I saw a bunch of Forget-me-nots. I think that are really pretty flowers so I wanted to incorporate them into my piece. I then added some pinecones around the flowers. I liked the texture the pinecones added.
The title for this piece is Home. My favorite place at Bonas is the Burton. I love Burton because it is a place where my friends and I can go to have fun, sing and dance. I also love that when Piano Man comes on, everyone circles up and dances together to end the night. It shows how we are one big community. I also love the Burton because it is a place I can go to destress and take my mind off of schoolwork. I have so many good memories here and so many more to come. I want to keep this painting so I can look back at it years from now and think about all the good times I had there.
I chose to write positive sticky notes and post them in the bathroom mirrors of the skellar. I chose this location because it is newly renovated and is now a popular spot on campus. Also, since Hickey closes earlier now, a lot of people go to the skellar for a late night meal. I figured it would be more popular during finals week with people studying late.
Week 7: Fauvism
I chose my partner-in-crime, Koa, for my Fauvism portrait. I used India inks and pencil for this portrait and replaced her normally brown and black fur for vivid pinks and blues. Koa is an eccentric dog, so the boldness of the colors speaks to her personality. She also can be caring and calm too, so these colors match her vibe well. The crazy strokes and droplets were originally just from me filling the space and from frustration over the portrait not being “perfect”, but I actually really love the result.
Honey Buckle
I created a satchel/purse out of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal boxes. I used these cereal boxes because as a child I always loved cereal and as a college student I have found that a midnight bowl of cereal is a great snack. I also think that cereal differently tastes better at night than in the morning. I decided to create a flap on the purse to give it functionality and style. I found on the boxes a little Cinnamon Toast Crunch icon, (Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my favorite!), and thought it could serve as a little button to close the satchel.

For this homework I choose to make a purse. I used an old cardboard box I found, gold dots, a claw clip, and white tape. As you can see by the video the main function of this item is to hold stuff in a comfortable way to carry it around.
For my surrealism project, I decided to use garbage from my friends' house. The necklace I designed is made out of hockey tape and bottle caps. I imagine it would be part of a college line! My beautiful roomate was such a good sport for modeling this necklace :)
For my art I made a visor out of a a white claw box that I taped and stapled together. Thanks to my friend Nora for modeling it for me!
This is so cute. I would definitely wear it!
Arte povera
My arte polvera movement was created with trash and non-conventional materials. This week I decided to use natural and trash to create a 5:00 somewhere ideology highlighting our wastefulness when focused on fun.
This is my puppet, Cookie. Cookie loves to sing and dance. Here she is performing Human by Christina Perri. One day she hopes to become a famous singer or be a star on broadway!!!!
This week, I chose to make a purse. The purse is made out of old notes that I no longer need!
My my futurism project, I chose to draw what the future phone will look like. AI has become increasingly popular lately. I think that by 2060, AI will be a big part of our lives. When I was younger my friends and had the app "talking tom" that would repeat whatever was said to it. That app gave me the idea of "my talking ai" lol. I think future phones will have a built in AI that does more than what Siri does now.
For my cubism project, I included a sticky note of my homework to do list, a fruit snack wrapper and granola bar wrapper. I added a few scraps from a magazine for the background to make it more visually appealing
Fauvism
I chose the colors I used because Alex consumes a bright energy. The green skin is reflected as being calm and bright. I chose red for his hair because it contrasted well with the green, as his dark hair contrasts with his light complexion. I used yellow to create highlights on his face. And chose orange for his eyes to make them stand out, as his blue eyes do. Lastly, I chose a bright background to portray contrast and bring focus into his figure.

For my portrait, I drew a color combo mixed media version of a portrait of my best friend, Logan. For my portrait, I used mixed media. First, I used alcohol-based markers as the base for Logan's face color fusion and for the hair. Next, I used Castel-Farber's oil pastels to help create a nice blend of colors, to produce bold yet smooth strokes of the face and linear features. The strokes of the strands of brown hair and hairstyles was also achieved using oil pastels. The colors I chose to depict Logan strongly connect with his personality. On the left hand side, I used bright yellow, orange, and red colors which are symbolic of Logan's warmth. Whenever I have a bad day or something is going on that makes me sad, Logan is always there by my side, giving me warm hugs and cheering me up with his jokes and smiles. His energy is vibrant just like the bright colors of yellow, orange, and red, that I utilize to depict his face. However, the right side of Logan's face is a fusion of blue and purple. This is because I utilized "cool" colors, these colors quite literally represent that he is such a cool guy. He is into cool cars (Mustangs!) , cool music (Rock!!), and cool bikes (motorcycles!). Therefore to express how cool Logan is, I decided to utilize cool colors. Another symbolic use of the blue and purple cool colors on Logan's face is to indicate that Logan is a pretty chill guy who goes with the flow. If something goes wrong, and not according to his plans, Logan is quick to adjust, adapt, and change his response to the situation. Logan is also a go with the flow-kind of guy, whenever I say let's go here and not somewhere else, his response is always, "Okay! Sure! I'm down!" So chill! For the clothes and background, I used a second medium, which is digital drawing/painting, using the procreate app on my ipad, in order to generate the natural green background, using the Fluffbrush and spotlight brush to depict various green-hues. The background is nature in order to depict calm and serenity, which are the vibes that Logan gives, whenever I talk to him, and have any urging issues and problems, he helps me feel calm and serene. I utilized gray and navy blue brush strokes from procreate in order to draw a smooth, navy blue and dark outfit that Logan wears. Logan loves wearing dark shirts and tops, and is often even into leather jackets, which fits his cool guy motor-cycle guy personality!

For my fauvism project, I chose my friend Mackenzie. She is a huge bills fan so I drew this picture of her wearing one of her bills hoodies! Also, in this picture you can see she has a big smile. She is always very positive and outgoing so I tried to depict it. I chose colored pencil as my medium to switch it up from my usual, acrylic paint
For this weeks assignment, I chose Wii fishing as my painting. I chose this because it was my favorite video game when I was younger, I used to love playing this and the other Wii sports games with my siblings. I thought it would be fun to make the pond look inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night". It was a little harder than I thought it would be.
