I added my inspiring post it notes to a window on Shay on campus. This faces a popular sidewalk that leads to the hickey and parking lots. I’m hoping many people saw this today in passing before and after the candlelight ceremony.

I added my inspiring post it notes to a window on Shay on campus. This faces a popular sidewalk that leads to the hickey and parking lots. I’m hoping many people saw this today in passing before and after the candlelight ceremony.
I chose to make an art formation piece. I was inspired by the stacking of the rocks and decided to try it myself. It was hard balancing them on top of each other but I’m glad I got it to stand.
For my painting of my favorite place I drew my house perfections. This is where my favorite memories from this year happened with old and new friends. This house has a special place in my heart.
I made a paper bag puppet to look like a giraffe! In the video he is dancing to Last Night by Morgan Wallen.
For this homework I choose to make a purse. I used an old cardboard box I found, gold dots, a claw clip, and white tape. As you can see by the video the main function of this item is to hold stuff in a comfortable way to carry it around.
This bag is perfect for when you need to bring a lot with you because of how big it is!
For my art I made a visor out of a a white claw box that I taped and stapled together. Thanks to my friend Nora for modeling it for me!
For my art I chose to draw a flying car with a space looking building behind it. I also drew a robot tree because at this rate we won’t have any real trees alive so we are going to have to build robotic ones.
For my portrait I choose to paint my friend Jordan. I choose to paint her peach because her favorite candy is peach rings. I choose to outline her in yellow to show how much she glows and is such a bright presences in every room she walks into.
Ashley your portraits have been getting better and better with every one that you do. I really think you found your artistic voice within a few weeks! Also, I love the comment you made on this portrait of me, it’s very sweet! :)
For my collage I used items that tend to build up in landfills or use up valuable natural resources. I used a gatorade bottle cap, a label from a water bottle, a piece of cardboard, a receipt, and a shoelace. For the background I used a paper towel.
I chose to paint my friend Ashley for this assignment. Since it was a nice day at practice today we took photos on the field. I chose to paint Ashley purple and her clothes yellow because she’s a very happy person!
For my modern pop culture painting I choose to focus on the British Royal Family. Recently there has been a lot of drama surrounding the recent release of Prince Harry's book. Harry and Megan have had a lot of drama with them and the rest of the Royal Family. Besides Harry and Megan there has been other drama surrounding King Charles III, especially in relations to his past actions.
For my painting I choose to do the British flag as the center piece. I painted the background gold to represent the crown and royalty. I made the British flag into a puzzle to represent all of the drama and connections the family has. I colored in one of the puzzle pieces black to represent how Harry and Megan are estranged by the family.
I really like how you didn’t just paint the royal family but something that represented how the family is divided and separated through puzzle pieces. Great job!
For my painting I chose the tower from one of my favorite disney cartoons, Tangled. The picture of the tower is very memorable and a key scene in the movie that showed a lot of color saturation. I imitated Van Gogh’s style in my painting in the background with swirls and for the plants by dabbing my brush on the canvas.
I chose blue for my collage. Blue has been my favorite color since I was a kid. I used a variety of magazines because I wanted a variety of images on my collage. I noticed there was a lot of white that came with each blue image!
I chose to reblog your collage because I think you did a great job finding blues that match really well with each other. Also, your background works really well with the swirl photo you have in the middle!
For my collage, I did all the things that define me and my generation. I included a picture of my dog because she’s a big part of my life and we hike and walk together which always makes me happy. I also included words and symbols while flipping through magazines such as smartphone and self-care that are big influences on our generation. I included the St. Bonaventure school of education logo because teaching is something I’m passionate about. And the office of course because that’s my go to comfort show.
I chose to reblog your collage because I love the picture you included of your dog! It shows such a wide variety of things that you are passionate about. I also really like how you used a bottle tab that adds dimension to your work!
Week 4: Renaissance - Self-Portrait
For my tea portrait, I used Hibiscus Sangria herbal tea from The Republic of Tea outlined in pencil. The tea brews as a dark pinkish purple, but when used as a paint on paper, it turns blueish. It turned out okay, but sometimes the tea bled more than I hoped. I had to layer the tea to get shadows and highlights.
I chose to reblog your tea portrait because it really stood out to me because of how detailed it is! I think it was a great idea to outline before painting with the tea since it is a hard medium to work with.
For my pop culture moment painting I chose the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp lawsuit case. In this case, Johnny Depp was suing Amber Heard for defamation when she released that Johnny Depp had been abusing her during their marriage resulting in many brands and companies dropping their endorsements with him. In the end, it was found that Amber Heard was the one who had been abusing Johnny Depp during that time and won the lawsuit.
I think this pop culture moment was important because it showed that men can be victims of domestic violence just as much as women can. It also showed the power of social media with the outpouring of support for Johnny during this time.
This is my self-portrait that I made out of tea. This was a real challenge because it took a few layers to make the tea stand out on the paper. Since the tea is so thin, I tried to focus more on shadows than specific detailed features.
