❝ If I murdered someone, she's the person I'd call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She's my person.❞
I don’t know. Honestly I don’t. I’m not famous and I truly don’t know any famous people so it’s hard to form an opinion on the matter but with the little bit of information I know about it, that’s the conclusion I’ve drawn.
It’s still a good conclusion, but I hope the famous people are happy most of the time. Well, I hope everyone are happy as much of the time as possible, to be honest.
» Moodboard: { Brooklyn Camilla Monroe; in a nutshell }
❝ Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.❞
Ah, but doesn’t everything in the long run get tedious? I definitely will, and you can definitely expect that he’ll be on board for that. He always says you’re his favourite babysitter and wants me to go out more so you can come over. I think he might have a crush on you.
You would think so, but that's a no. I mean, surfing and sailing and diving - that'll never become tedious. Oh my gosh, that's the cutest thing I've ever heard! I love him so much, he's such a clever one. Honestly, I love babysitting him, he's fun and never any trouble.
The assistant for the photographer leaves to turn on the sound system and some very sensual and ambiant techno music comes on. Slow pulsing beats and soft melodies fill the air as they get the set ready for the shoot. Giovanni smiles at Brooklyn. “You’ve got this. Ok. Just be yourself.” The photographer takes a test pitcutre to see if he needs to adjust the lighting and smiles when he doesn’t. Gio sits down at his chair and then watches.
Brooklyn filled her lungs with air, breathing in shakily as she realized she couldn't stall much longer - and that she obviously didn't want to do that either. Time was money, right? She listened to the music for a moment and then looked at Giovanni when he spoke, a soft smile appearing on her lips. "Okay, y-yes. Thank you." She nodded firmly and then swallowed before she directed her attention to the camera, giving herself a second to mentally prepare herself as she let the music work its way into her head. She was a little stiff at first, but after a moment or two she loosened up and started "posing" more naturally.
She laughed. “Yeah, we can round up.” Gabby snorted and shook her head. “I still think you’re crazy. Besides, even if they were looking at me, it’s not like they ever act on it. So it doesn’t mean anything anyway.”
"Well, they probably refrain from acting on it because they know you're way out of their league, and that you have a good handful of guys who's willing to beat them up for you."
“Babies giggling is pretty hard to beat,” he said with a chuckle, “ she’s named after Katherine of Valois, she married Henry V.”
"I know, right? And she had this huge grin on her face at the same time. So cute." She laughed lightly. "Ooh, that's fancy! I like it."
“Come on, this is absolutely no time to be like this, Brooklyn Monroe, I had to come back, who was going to look after you while your brothers are gone?”
"Oh, I know, right? Those boys are way too unreliable this time a year. I'm so glad you came back - how are you? How's the little nugget?"
Been A While | Brooklyn & Frankie
Frankie had spent the morning in a nearby city, finishing a deal with a local dealer there. Once Frankie arrived back in town around 12, two of his crew met him behind his club with worried expressions on their faces. “What’s goin’ on, boys?” Frankie asked his men, stepping out of the black Sedan he was normally drove around in. As they talked about a possible rat within his group, Frankie grew frustrated at the information. “These damn babbos!” He yelled out before ordering his men to get the guy and meet him at the warehouse. Being the capo meant taking care of business…and the rats.
Hours passed as Frankie gathered the ‘who’ behind the rat until finally the young man being beat gave it up. An accomplished smile crept onto Frankie’s face. Wiping the blood off his right hand, Frankie silently motioned to his crew. They knew what to do now - take care of the rat for good. With clean hands, Frankie headed back to his club earlier than expected. Walking into the place with a confident vibe over him, the attention came onto him as the staff and patrons greeted him. Frankie strolled over to the bar before he noticed the woman sitting near him. “Brooklyn?” He said her name, not believing his eyes for a moment. “It is you. Hey, bello, how have you been? It’s been a while.”
There was a certain air of confidence about Frankie that Brooklyn had instantly found attractive, and liked back when they had met each other for the first time. It wasn't just that though - he had been charming and nice to talk to as well, which made it even worse that she had gone and made things awkward by going with him home that night. But worst of all; that she didn't actually remember much of what happened, except for waking up in the morning and sneaking out when he was in the kitchen.
She noticed how people looked up from whatever task at hand they had been focused on, their lips curving into smiles and their heads nodding in subtle greetings. She had a feeling she knew who it was, she could practically feel it, and of course she was right - it was him. She looked down for a fleeting second, only looking up when she heard him say her name. "Frankie," she said and then couldn't help but smile in his direction. She nibbled on her bottom lip nervously, fingertips playing with the napkin on the bar absentmindedly. "I-I've been good, just really busy... What about you, how've you been?"
My biggest issue is that people don’t seem to understand that famous people are just people. They live their lives, they have their jobs, they make money, they have emotions and they have privacy. I think if more people understood that a lot more famous people would be a lot happier.
That's very true, but I don't think the majority of famous people are unhappy - I mean, I think they believe doing what they love is enough to outweigh the crazy fame stuff. I know I wouldn't be unhappy if it was me, it wouldn't be very fair, in my opinion. Not when being famous gives you so many opportunities to do good in the world.
“The finer point of the job. But, come on, there’s always going to be cake we can sneak if I’m involved. There’s something wrong if I’m not baking.” That unfortunately was very true and sometimes, Lizzy couldn’t help but feel ashamed. “You should see it. A girls night in maybe? We can do pj’s, pizza and pudding.”
"Yes that's true. It's just one of the many reasons why I absolutely adore you - cake is the easy way into my heart." She laughed. Truth be told, Brooklyn was always blown away by whatever amazing cake, cookies or pastries came out of the oldest Chase's kitchen. "I would love that! That sounds so great, to be honest. Maybe next weekend?"
Brooklyn’s enthusiasm quite quickly made Jace forget about the bad morning he’d been having. But then, she was one of the few people who could put a smile on his face without even trying and for that, he was extremely thankful. “Why can’t you believe it?” he questioned with a light laugh, glancing to the counter and trying to keep a watchful eye out for his coffee. “I missed you, too. I’m good, though, you know. When am I not good?” This wasn’t entirely true, of course, but in recent months things had definitely been better. “What about you? What’s been happening here?”
Brooklyn was practically beaming with happiness and excitement from running into her old friend like that. She had so many good memories stored from her childhood that involved Jace, the beach and the two of them sliding, falling or jumping off their kid-sized surfboards. "Because- well because I didn't think I would get to see you until I would come surprise you for New Years in New York." She smiled brightly, stepping back from the embrace but keeping one hand on his arm gently, as if she was afraid he would float away if she didn't. "Good, I'm so glad to hear that. Oh, just a lot of the same old same old - a whole lot of work, surfing and sailing. But enough about me, what cool adventures did you get up to? Are you back again, or just visiting?"

Stowing her surfboard at its usual place behind the dive shop, Brooklyn pulled her hair back into a ponytail with the hair tie from around her wrist. For once, she was off work before sunset, which meant she had spent the last couple of hours catching the waves she loved so much. Her brothers and the rest of the crew were still out on the boat with a group of tourists, spotting sharks out by Farallon Island, while Robin was taking the last shift at the shop. As always, Brooklyn found herself starving and headed to the Beach Bar, checking first to make sure Frankie wouldn’t be there tonight. She wasn’t really ready to face him yet, not after last time.
She walked inside, making her way to the bar quickly where she ordered ice tea and a club sandwich as soon as she had settled herself on one of the stools. She loved the place— some people thought it was too upscale, but she thought it was just what the Shore side needed. There hadn’t been a place like this before after all, which was probably why she loved it so much now. All the more reason to feel like a fool though. Sleeping with the owner might not have been the best idea, but so far she’d managed to avoid him perfectly.
“It would. A little like cake boss, but more aggresive,” Lizzy laughed, shaking her head. “Uh, yeah, you know the quote, ‘Let them eat cake!’ You haven’t seen the movie?”
“It sounds perfect. I think we’d do well— plus we would probably be able to sneak a lot of cake.” She laughed as well, eyes crinkling at the corners. “I’ve heard the quote, but never seen the movie no. At least I don’t think so.”
“I could have picked Emma, but i didnt. I chose you.” He winks at her and thentakes a seat by the photgrapher. “You have an air of humblenss around you. That will show through in the photos.” Giovanni chuckles and shakes his head. “Well that make both of us now.” He looks at the photographer and mutters something in French. “Would it be better if we played some music? Something to calm your nerves?”
Brooklyn tried to fight the blush on her cheeks, wondering why on earth anyone would pick her over her best friend. Didn’t seem right at all, but she still felt flattered by the compliment in there. “Thank you,” she mumbled quietly, pushing the back of her hand to her cheek for a second, in an attempt to get rid of the blush. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath then, looking to the photographer. “Um, yes— yes that would be great, thank you.”
The sound of Brooklyn’s voice cutting through the noise was welcome, and Jace immediately glanced over in her directions. He laughed at her comment, shrugging his shoulders for a moment, and then wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug. “Hey you.”
She hugged him tightly, surprised to see him again, but more than happy about it. “I can’t believe you’re back!” She said and pulled back to look at him, making sure he was real. “I’m so glad— I’ve missed you. How are you? How have you been? Are you okay?” She asked, reminded herself to take a breath then.
