I literally feel like a fan girl every time you reply HAHA. And Big!Harry’s chronically low self esteem bites him in the ass!! I can’t recall if you mentioned this in an earlier chapter but are we getting another Harry POV? I must know what was going through his head. I wish this fic could go on for years and years.

have you read "goodnight hero, goodnight prey" by toxikgato? if not, i think you'll like it! their harry is pretty similar to yours: protective, possessive, clever and cunning, a little (read: a lot) feral, and insanely powerful. oh, and he's also the type who'd choose draco over the world (in this case, actually chose). on a sidenote, i need more harrys like this istg im sick of selfless and righteous saviour harry

i HAVE bc i search the possessive harry tag like a woman on drugs. the possessive harry cult is small but fierce. u didn't ask for my headcanon on why harry would turn out this way but i will give you a truncated version anyway!! harry literally has PTSD. that's it. he quite literally would check everything off on the life events checklist (LEC) lmfao. harry holds very tightly to what he thinks is his (even to his own detriment). i definitely think his hero complex is as wide as the oceans combined but being a vessel for the devil, abused by his caretakers, raised for slaughter, and suffering the deaths of all those close to him??
harry is fucked up lol. it would take magical intervention to heal him.

(2/2) those are the best stories because they have such a life and character of their own. you write all your fics masterfully but I have such a soft spot for this particular one. I feel very strongly that this just has to run its course before Big H and D can fall into one another. you've made me truly enjoy a slow burn! p.s. i selfishly can't wait for harry to figure out exactly how much draco likes being dominated. that's going to be such a riveting scene. ANYWAY, til next friday!
basically yes. yes!!! so one of the points this fic makes a few times is that love and forgiveness aren't transactional. they can be earned, but not always as a given. and there's two sides to that point, right? draco's love for younger harry, and the fact that younger harry deserves love and kindness and comfort is treated as a given that draco works in service of for the entire fic, and tries to convince harry of.
the other side to that is that in adult relationships, love and forgiveness isn't a given, it has to be earned and built, and draco now has to work for it. and he's dealing with an older harry who was never given the base of unconditional love that little harry is forming.
tbh this is why i can't give a fully accurate chapter end count yet. it takes time!! i don't want to undermine the work draco has to do to win older harry back, or the work older harry has to do to ever trust draco again. they have to be ready for it!!
