Please join me in shaming this dog, Dot, who has, almost every day the last 4 or so days, escaped, teaching other dogs how to do so, and having them escape with her. Acceptable methods of shame are calling her childish playground insults, inferring that she has poor taste in music or style, and/or simply commenting 'SHAME'.
Unfortunately the horrors persist. Also unfortunately, so do I.

Nothing like waking up at 3:30 in the morning, slightly groggy, heading into the kitchen to grab something to drink because you're thirstier than a houseplant in a college dorm, only to then find the half gallon of chocolate milk you just got- proceeded to drink a quarter gallon of chocolate milk in under a minute and a half.
Okay, so it may have been more than a quarter of a gallon... But in my defense...

I think my favorite trope of superpowered person is someone who's body or physique aren't actually wildly changed by their power, because regardless the powers all break the laws of physics anyway; let the lanky woman who gets super strength stay lanky. The doughy guy with superspeed stay plush.
Maybe the person who gets laser vision doesn't suddenly get purple eyes and white hair and just still looks like Nicky from accounting.

No thoughts, head empty
So I just had a nightmare I didn't think was possible. I was on the back porch of my house, it was night, and I watched a squirrel run into a whole in the wall, the siding, where a joist was missing partially because it was in the process being replaced, but nothing was currently going on this second, construction wise. I raised an eyebrow at this, and watched as a second animal, something like a short tailed squirrel or red stoat went in, but apparently couldn't get in as far because the first animal was still in there.
It turned and skittered at me, so I opened the back door to the house (glass storm door) and squeezed through an opening I kept small trying not to let a wild animal into the house. I succeeded, and when I turned around to look, this stoat was right outside the door, like it was pleading.
I opened the door a bit and reached through as it scrambled like it was clearly trying to get in. I actually picked it up and it seemed to let me, at least didn't attack. I held it for a few seconds, before gently tossing it back out, because again, I'd be crazy to let a wild rodent into the house.
That's when I turned and saw it in the shadows further down the deck. A smaller breed of wildcat. Like a lynx or bobcat or something. I immediately gulped, and started rapping on the storm door, making noise to try and scare it off.
Didn't work, it lept forward, and grabbed the stoat. Cue the longest amount of cat vs rodent sounds you could imagine except it doesn't really stop. I sit there blaming myself, wondering what I could even do.
After what feels like a few minutes, I then hear dogs baying and barking. Oh. Right. My father owns 7 dogs. 5 of which tend to stay outside. I turned to the other room to grab one of my thicker canes, ready to go out there and face this thing if I have to.
And then I wake up.
A 15-year-old boy is about to base his entire personality on the last movie you watched for the next 10 years. HOW BAD IS IT?
He is going to get himself killed. Badly.

the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people
i feel like whenever people discuss hatsune mikus age its always either "hatsune miku is literally 16 you cant treat her like an adult" or "hatsune miku is a piece of software with no thoughts or feelings you can do whatever" but never the imo more interesting "hatsune miku is a marketing mascot designed to be a virtual idol, what does it say about the idol industry that the people involved considered 16 to be the perfect age to assign her. why do so many vtubers played by adult women have 16 on their profile. why are so many idol anime about highschoolers. can we talk about the contexts and implications please please please please-"
and this isnt a "japan bad lol" thing theres so many characters out there who are functionally treated as adults but designated to be in their late teens. i think the oldest (official) disney princess is like. 21. its a feature of how society at large treats 16-25 as the only viable window of attractiveness yknow. the dicaprio problem. its everywhere once you look for it unfortunately and even characters i love are not exempt from reflecting the bias.
