A Law to grant Aboriginal Australians self-determination

This Model Act is written in a clear, formal legislative style, titled the Aboriginal Families and Justice Empowerment Act 2025 (Commonwealth). It is designed to be federal enabling legislation, allowing for state/territory harmonisation, with direct provisions to reduce incarceration and child removals by legally transferring authority, embedding community-led structures, and redirecting funding.

After more than 200 years Aboriginal men and women continue to be  gaoled and their children removed - something needs to change. The Australian people said no to the #VoiceReferendum, it is time to look into the mirror and say YES to this most basic form of self-determination.
