The Mandate of Heaven (Tianming), also known as Heaven's Mandate, was the divine source of authority and the right to rule of China's early kings and then emperors. The ancient god or divine force known as Heaven or Sky selected a particular individual to rule on its behalf on earth.
Country must ‘expand its circle of friends,’ president says China has used a tough diplomatic approach in recent years
In China’s biggest display of cognitive dissonance and chilling irony, President Xi Jinping urges Chinese officials to curate a ‘lovable’ image of the country from now on.
Such officials know full well that several countries blame China for concealing its outbreak of coronavirus, leading to the disease spreading beyond its borders. As I wrote yesterday, several American states have filed class-action lawsuits against the CCP, and prior, Australia formally accused China of orchestrating a coverup.
As of today, China commits genocide against the Uyghur Muslim population in Xinjiang. Contrary to smooth denials by these same Chinese officials, the Uyghurs have accused the Chinese government of a range of sickening crimes. These include, but are not limited to: arbitrary arrest, torture, organ harvesting, trafficking, gang rape, forced abortions, forced sterilisation, reeducation, denial of religious rights, and official denial of genocide.
In addition to this, China strangles Hong Kong’s democracy through its national security law, leading to the arrest and persecution of many in that region. China has also continued its intimidation of Taiwan, its repression of Tibet’s right to independence, and its recent attack on the Mongolian people by preventing those in Inner Mongolia from learning their own national language in school.
Instead of providing the international community with any explanation for these lawless acts alone-- I could include China’s military build-up in the South China Sea, intrusion into family life leading to a catastrophic decline in birth rates, online censorship and persecution of independent media-- China believes instead that a charm offensive will cause foreign nations to abandon their concerns.
Western politicians in particular should stand firm against China’s human rights abuses and reject China’s false belief that it has a superior form of government and society to the West. Anyone who reads Chinese history in the 20th century, as well as current politics can see that a rejection of Western democratic values goes hand in hand with repression, persecution, and egregious criminality. China and other nations like Russia and Iran have demonstrated this time and time again.
Reject this whitewashing. Hold China accountable for its ongoing human rights abuses.
@Regrann from @veganstreet - In 2016, the Chinese government funded a series of infomercials starring Arnold Schwartznegger and directer by James Cameron that spoke of disaster if the Chinese people keep increasing their consumption of meat, and urging everyone to cut meat consumption in half. Wounldn’t it be great if all governments cared enough about their citizen’s health and planetary health to do the same? @veganstreet #china #chinesegovernment #meatconsumption #cutmeatconsumotion @arnoldschwartznegger @jamescameron #vegan #veganmeme #veganstreet #veganstreetmeme - #regrann
Citizens of the upper-class suburb of Hampstead have become accustomed to Andrew. Come rain or shine, this Orthodox Jew protests every week against CCP atrocities.
An excellent article documenting the solitary efforts of one London Orthodox Jew to protest against the abuse of Uyghur Muslims in China.
The fact that millions are silent on acts of Chinese aggression, persecution, and brutality shows, as Andrew says, how many have been paid off by the Chinese government.
I have yet to hear British politicians demanding action against the Chinese state for its heinous abuses. This is undoubtedly because we have sold all our industry to China and are dependent upon them for so many products. This is similar to how we turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabian brutality, on account of petroleum.
The root reason why the Chinese government abuses human rights is Communism, a brutal and inhumane ideology which reduces human beings to objects of capital. An ideology that denies human beings the rights to follow their personal conscience and beliefs (hence the persecution of Muslims and also Christians and Jews). An ideology responsible for the suppression, economic ruin, starvation, slave labour, torture, and murder of millions during the 20th century.
People in the West who are complacent, easily fooled, greedy for cheap products, or worse, devotees of Communism, have ignored the fact that China’s government retains its murderous allegiances to Mao. They have whitewashed the history of Communism, and point to China’s supposed prosperity. But anyone who has been to China will see that this economic prosperity is largely a myth. High production stems from extremely cheap labour, with millions of Chinese people being unable to afford a decent lifestyle.
I am grateful for people such as Andrew who will stand against the powers of a brutal government for justice. Sadly, some have criticised him, rather than the perpetrators.
For example, one person was quoted asking about grooming gangs-- a reference to British men of Pakistani ethnic origin who have been grooming and abusing white English girls for decades and were protected by political correctness, anti-white racism, and an incompetent legal system. Unsurprisingly, the grisly revelations of these crimes have provoked outrage and justifiably demanded introspection of British Pakistani Muslim communities.
Even though the perpetrators of these crimes are mostly Muslim men of Pakistani ethnic origin, this has nothing to do with the Uyghur Muslims in China, for reasons that should be quite obvious. People should learn to think in clear categories. Identifying a (likely) culprit does not mean blaming everyone else. Likewise, some have criticised Andrew after the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks, committed by extremist Muslims from that nation. Again, this has nothing to do with, neither does it justify, China’s appalling actions against Chinese Muslims.
Another asked “who cares”, showing the sad selfishness that has overcome British society today.
Well many do care. Tyrannical authorities cannot last forever, as history has repeatedly shown. We can see the Iranian people rising up against 40 years of oppression, and the people of Hong Kong demanding democratic freedoms. People like Andrew will continue to do what many of us are too afraid to do-- speak out against a wicked ruler. Mazel Tov to him!
