Week 3 - Take me with you (demo)

This is one of my favourite songs that I’ve made, and it’s quite a personal one. I don’t know if it’s ever going to be properly released and I don’t have a project that it’s planned to go on, but once I make a more finished version I’ll post it on here for sure.

This track is self produced and written and I’m quite proud of what it is. Sad boy anthem let’s gooo

CG99 Verse 1 (wip) [WEEK 2]

This is the 1st verse of a wip song from the Curious George EP. This track will be a good bit longer and have more verses once done. 

For now this is the weekly song even though it is not a full song. I may upload another song for this week or i may not. You’ll see.

upcoming projects and where they’re at

currently 3 EP’s and 2 LP’s in production set for this year.

EP1: Jose da Monkey- ???

this is a duo EP featuring Jose da Monkey and me. The sound is lo-fi hip-hop and most production is done and it’s about 50-60% written. It’ll be 6-8 tracks long (estimate). This EP follows the theme of ‘making it out’ of where you’re from, but doesn’t follow any specific story across the whole project and the focus is on sound. 

This EP uses movie line samples throughout to tie in the themes and transition between tracks. This EP might be a visual album?? but nothing like that’s confirmed yet. At least to begin, this project will be a youtube/ soundcloud exclusive.

EP2: Curious George - ???

This is a solo concept EP following the MC/ character of Curious George. It’s about 40% written and 70% produced beats-wise. 90′s hip-hop boom-bap sound. 5-7 tracks long. 

This EP is very story heavy and almost all vocal appearances are characters. Should release early this summer.

EP3: ??? - Day Off

This EP is a duo/trio visual EP between producer Cian Harpur, and 2 rappers, one of which is me. It’s a concept album following the idea of going through a day off and the mix of feelings and ideas that go with that. 

It’s 5 tracks long and 20-30% done.

LP1: SK - Minister of Sick Ass Raps 

This is the follow up to State Issued Bars by SK. It’s still very early in development and at the moment it is just a concept with a couple tracks written. It explores SK as he becomes a minister in the government, also with some songs just based on sound.

This album should be 8+ tracks long and will just be a fun album to listen to with a light sound. Less than 10% done. To drop late this summer.

LP2: Brugjam - ???

This is the Brugjam group /collective album. Very super early in production don’t know much about this album yet. Should have lots of energy and less focus on any 1 emcee. 

Currently like 1% done. Might have a collection/ updated versions of existing Brugjam songs. Probably gonna be the most professional of all the upcoming projects. Should drop before the end of the year.

brugjam past present and future

this is brugjam. we’re an irish rap label/ group/ collective of teenagers operated mainly by me, who’s the leader. I don’t have a rapper/ artist name yet so I’m still on the hunt.

past

Brugjam has existed since the 11th of April 2019 when we had a filmmaking workshop in school and made the song and video for Markinthewild (you can find it on our youtube page). Brugjam was pretty quiet for the next year or so, with nothing bar 1 single dropping until the 11th of September 2020 when we started a run of singles (lifestyle, count it up, fucking scared etc). These were supposed to run up to the album release of State Issued Bars on the 9th of November but due to recording delays due to lockdown the album was quiet delayed.

State Issued Bars dropped on the 2nd of April 2021. The release was a little messy, and so far it has mainly only been listened to by friends from school. They all liked it but the reach hasn’t been far.

Since the release of State Issued Bars people have begun to take a bit more interest in us and we have 2 EPs and 1 LP currently in direct creation and 2 other LPs in planned production. All of the projects are with different artists with crossover bar one of the planned projects which is a group album. That’s still a good bit far away.

future

Our goals and hopes are to perform live one day, get in a professional music studio one day, keep making music, 

I also really want to make films. Right now our equipment is quite limited but that isn’t going to stop us. A few of us in brugjam have an interest in filmmaking. I really love the short films kevin abstract made for American Boyfriend. A few of the projects coming up are visual albums.

I’m not too sure about the future but I and we are just gonna keep making our stuff and see where it takes us. hopefully somewhere cool + out of here.

In’n’Out (This is Brugjam)

this track is the outro from the SK album state issued bars. It’s probably the best song on the album that I’m most proud of making. 

I’m planning or at least hoping to rerecord once lockdown allows for it to improve the group atmosphere/vibe. also the sound quality as most of this song was recorded outdoors on a headphone mic lol.

A video is in production for this song and I’ll post it here once it’s done.
