Pride feels a rush of panic, enough that Wrath can probably hear his heart speed up, but he doesn't say anything or try to bang on the door, just huffing.

Wrath, on the other side of the door, sighs heavily. There's a twinge of sympathy there but she shoves it down, shaking her head and walking away.

“Do it then. I’d rather you’re honest about wanting to hurt me than pretending like you have my best interest at heart.” Pride slips out from under the bed now that he knows there’s no use hiding, and turns his face to the side slightly, offering up his cheek.

Wrath just sighs,"You know what, kid? Fuck you." She turns on her heal and leaves the room, locking it behind her.

“I’m not a kid,” Pride says, tone dry and unamused. Lacking most emotion but with a tint of irritation. His normal state. “And that’s not true.”

Wrarh clicks her tongue in annoyance before sighing,"Alright, kid. You're making it real difficult not to punch you in the face right now. I'm being extremely generous, all things considered. Now, I don't want to hurt you. But I will. And you know exactly what I can do. What I've already done to those who tested my patience. You really wanna end up like them?"

“That’s different.” Pride’s face peeks out from under the bed to look at Wrath hesitantly. “You were loyal to the wrong people. I won’t make that mistake.”

She laughs, loud and abrupt. "Oh god, kid. You're cute." She shakes her head, her smile bitter. "You're loyal to a murderous psychopath and a tyrannical bastard. You're already loyal to the wrong people. "

“I don’t think you’re much of a dog anymore, anyway,” Pride says, voice low. He’s definitely trying to provoke her on purpose. “But I’m not interested in changing career paths. I’ve been… I am loyal.”

"I was loyal too, once upon a time." She scoffs, sliding against the door until she's sitting on the floor. "You know where that got me? Tossed out like a piece of fuckin' garbage when I gave up everything for that asshole!" Her sentence is punctuated by her throwing something at the wall, leaving a small dent.

Pride stays silent for a few moments, as if trying to see if Wrath will leave, before he sighs deeply. “I can’t tell you that. It’s my job to tell the king these things.”

"And my job was to be the King's guard dog." She snickers,"Clearly, I changed career paths."

Pride, who’s likely either sucked under Wrath’s bed or in a closet, just glares in her general direction, but stays completely silent and still as if hoping it’ll make her overlook them.

Wrath sighs,"Alright, pipsqueak. Here's what we're gonna do." She leans back against the door, arms crossed. "You're gonna tell me what it's gonna take to get you to keep your mouth shut."

Pride manages to get out of the room he was being held in, but seems to realize he can't outrun a vampire on his own, as rather than going for the front door he ducks into another room to hide under or in whatever he can find.

"Kid, I can literally hear you. You know that right?" Wrath sighs, stepping into the room with him and shutting the door.

Pride stares at her for a moment, eyes wide, before instead of attacking them, he bolts for the door.

Wrath, having expected this, gives Pride a head start before sprinting after him.

Somewhere in Pride's mind he's aware that he should run, but he's so baffled that he just stares at them. "What?"

"Do it." Wrath stands there, arms open. "Kill me. You have the chance right here, right now. I won't stop you." She looks Pride over,"You'd be labeled a hero. Ending the rebellion. Or..you could do what's right." She steps closer,"I'm not your enemy, Pride."

"Fuck you," Pride repeats plainly, his tone dry, lacking any real emotion beyond a slight fearful inhale, "I killed him, and I-I don't have a problem killing you too."

"Okay. Then do it." She shrugs, reaching down to untie him.

"I killed him. So you... you better let me go, because I've killed vampires before and I'm not afraid to do it again," Despite the words being meant as a threat, there's a wavering in his tone that shows he is, indeed, afraid.

-Pride

Wrath deadpans, looks him up and down, blinks at him a few times and scoffs again. "Right. And I'm the Queen of England. Who did it, kid?"

"Vincent is dead and has been for months," Pride says, voice dropping lower as he slowly, hesitantly peeks open one eye to look at Wrath, "So don't act like you know my life when you don't know anything about me."

"Vincent is dead?" She scoffs in disbelief, backing off of Pride and standing to pace. "Who..?"

Pride's breath hitches in fear as Wrath forces eye contact, and he squeezes his eyes shut desperately. He, luckily, doesn't bite her this time, but he tries unsuccessfully to shift around to kick them away. "I know that you don't know anything because there is no them," he mutters, "there's only one now."

Wrath blinks once, twice. "..what?" She whispers, brows pinching.

“Fuck you,” Pride spits out, but there’s a flash of panic in his gaze, trying to kick at Wrath but failing miserably as his struggling starts anew, “fuck you, fuck you, fuck you! Shut the fuck up about things you don’t know anything about!” Any hope of composure is gone. He’s fully yelling at her now.

Wrath snatches Pride by the face, nails digging into his chin. She forces eye contact but no trance is used. "Look at me." She hisses,"Do you really wanna go back to them? Terrified they'll take it too far one day?" Her gaze is imploring, eyebrow raised.

The mention of the vampires has Pride stiffening, and his anxious gaze turns to a glare. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

-Pride

"Trust me, I do." I scoff, "You think they do that shit cause the love you. Am I right?"

Wrath doesn’t look at him, she doesn’t need to. "That ain't love, kid. It's imprisonment. They're breaking that little head of yours. That's why you don't like trancing. Cause they trance you when you fight back. Am I close?"

“I’m not a stray cat. You can’t just keep me,” Pride’s voice drops to a near snarl as he says the words, kicking himself away from Wrath with what little traction he can get with his feet. Their words do give him a brief moment of pause. “Of course, I know that being ruler isn’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows all the time. But that’s just… necessary.”

"But it ain't necessary." Wrath scoffs,"Just like it ain't necessary to let Vincent and Adam drain you dry. Don't think I don't recognize those bite marks." She shifts to face him,"Think about it, kid. You help us take down the king, we keep you safe."
