Luckily, their weapon is pretty low-grade. Two axe wielders in the clearing. We have terrain advantage over them but be careful, the one on your right appears to have a throwing axe. Shouldn’t be a problem though as long as you keep your eye on him, and fight in close quarters. The last two are magic users. Admittedly, I don’t know much about them. But if they’re anything like pegasus knights, you should keep your distance and use that bow.”
“We’re lucky these guys decided to spread out, we should be able to take them down one by one so long as we stay in the woods. I’m afraidI won’t be able to help much, but I’ll stick by in case you need anything.”
After saying all that she just sighed a moment, pinching the bridge of her nose as she grumbled to herself: “I am getting the worst sense of deja vu right now.”
Byleth was impressed with the observational skills that Mark posessed, they did come in handy as they both prepared themselves.
Not long after, the fight was over both Byleth and Mark emerged victorious, only suffering minor hits but nothing life threatening. Byleth always had a method of charging in headfirst, getting damaged a lot but never surrendering even if she seemed to suffer mortal wounds. This however, did not happen on this day.
“Very good. I’d say that was a good lesson for the day. We should get back. Clean up, and call it a day.” She suggested.
Mark was also surprised to have make it through this fight with little strife. She worried things might get too bloody and drawn-out, but luckily that never really cane to be.
She simply nodded at Byleth’s instructions. “Alright… lead the way?” Mark asked with a shrug.

Taking her newer students out for some one-on-one training for the sake of catching them up to speed from the rest of the class, Byleth would give her the basics of combat, feeling that she was getting the hang of it, they would soon be surrounded by bandits just as they were getting ready to head back to Garreg Mach.

I think there's just this underlying sadness with Finral that while everyone else is arguably much better off for joining the Black Bulls, for a while Finral was kinda stuck in the same position as he was before leaving his family.
Like thanks to the Black Bulls Vanessa is finally able to live her life freely, Noelle can better hone her magic skills without Nozel shunning her at every turn, Henry gained a newfound will to live since crossing paths with Yami.
But Finral... he left his whole life behind because the pressure of living up to his younger brother, a literal child prodigy, was just too much. The constant comparisons to his brother made him deeply insecure about his magic abilities. And when he joins the Black Bulls... he's still just seen as kind of useless in battle. He gets his ass handed to him on multiple occasions, and everyone his squad seems to view him as nothing more than a glorified carpool.
I felt kinda upset for him when he and Yami found Langris possessed by a powerful elf, and Yami's immediate response was the tell Finral to stay back and let him handle it. Especially with how much he clearly tried to show his capabilities in front of Yami early on.
God damn it Yuki for making me feels things towards funny pervert man.
