#i've said it before and i maintain that Pusher is probably the platonic ideal of an x files episode #not meaning it’s the best but it’s the most x-filesey and contains all the crucial x-filesy qualities in a standalone monster-of-the-week ep #and ​it’s got that 3rd season confidence #the swagger of a show that knows it found an audience so it can fully commit to the genre without apology #yeah ok this guy has magic woo-woo powers - they don't have to waste any time convincing the audience to take it seriously #they just go right to ‘so what would that look like here in the world? let’s find out shall we’
