Edit: just to make this clear, because some people can’t read. I am not stating that making smut of Giomis while they’re underage is right, but I do not think the pairing Giomis is pedophelia. If you want to make smut of it, do it (please age them up though)

Okay so I have a small rant about the Jojo fandom and Giomis.

What you thought this would be me bashing on Giomis? Well think again.

So some people in the Jojo fandom really think Giomis is “pedophilia”. I have an argument as to why the ship itself isn’t.

Before we dive into this, I am stating this right here. Giomis itself is fine and the relationship between two character isn’t pedophila (just one of them is underaged). However, making sexual fanart of Giorno or Trish in general is kind of weird unless they’re aged-up.

Okay first things first. Pedophilia is a disgusting thing where an adult has sexual interactions with a prepubescent child. Now if you want pedophilia, just think of that one Alesi episode with child Polnareff. Yup that’s 100% gross. Giorno is a 15 almost 16 year old during the time of Golden Wind. If you put it into perspective of high school years, he is the equivalent to a sophomore, because he’s born in April (as an April baby myself, I can confirm). I lost count of how many of my friends lost their virginity when they were 15. Anyways, it’s not weird for people that age to get a little frisky.

The age gap is one of the things people don’t understand at all with this either. They’re not even close to being 3 years apart, not even 2 1/2 years apart. Mista is born December 3rd, 1982 (haha why not 4?). Giorno is born April 16th, 1985. At first glance, this looks like a 3 year age gap. And at first I thought it was too. But then I thought about the age difference between me and my sister, I’m born in April 1999 and my sister is born in December 1996. So it looks like we have 3 years apart, but really it’s 2 years and 4 months. Not even 2 1/2 lol. Giorno and Mista’s age gap is literally 2 years and 4 months apart. You’re going to tell me this is pedophilia when I had several friends fuck 30 year old back in highschool. Wtf?

Now just think of this now that we established the age gap (not even big wtf) now put this into perspective. Giorno is the equivalent to a highschool sophomore, mista is actually the equivalent to a high school senior considering he’s born in December. Now how many high school seniors do you know of that take their sophomore partner to prom? Well if you don’t know any it either means you have few friends or your high school is just special. Are you going to tell a senior that they can’t take their partner to prom because it’s “pedophilia”? Well if you do, then you’re kind of an asshole. I remember dating someone 2 years older than me back when I was underage (queue the violin). Just going to state this here, where I live the age of concent is 16 but people who are 15 are able to date up to 18 year olds because of the Romeo and Juliet law. I know that Italy’s age of concent is 14 and Japan’s is 13. This is why I don’t see how it’s wrong for a 15 year old to date an 18 year old. However, other states don’t have this Romeo and Juliet law which is why a lot of people are so trigger happy with the thought of a 15 year old having sex with an 18 year old. Just remember that this world is a grey place and not everything is black and white. Because someone literally stated that someone “underage” should not be in a relationship with someone 18 or older because it’s “toxic”. I’m going to point out that my memere got engaged to my pepere when she was 17 and he was 19 (and they were together for like 2 years before that), they were married for like 50 years (I’m guesstimating because my memere is dead). A toxic relationship is someone who takes advantage of and or abuses the other (physically or mentally). Age has nothing to do with how well a relationship works.

Alright so now let’s establish when Golden Wind takes place. Clearly the only time time it makes sense to take place is the time when mista is 18 and giorno is 15. Now think about it they have a 2 year and 4 month age gap, that would mean for them two be these two ages it would have to take place between December of 2000 and April of 2001. Alright that’s cool, 4 months of defeating bad guys. So that means durning Golden Wind, Mista barely turned 18 and Giorno is almost about to turn 16. Soooooooooooooooo long story short, you’re all overreacting over nothing, it’s not pedophilia. And if the fact that Giorno is still technically 15 bothers you, just age him up.

Oh god if you think about it, they are compatible as well. One’s an Aries and the Other a Sagittarius. This is getting better.

One last tiny little note before I leave, if you bash on Giomis for being “underaged” but then try to justify MistaxTrish, you should now that Trish is also 15 and a little bit younger than Giorno. Soooooooo don’t be a Hypocrite.
