A glimpse back in time with classic cars and concrete apartment blocks from Polish People's Republic.
Simplicity, symmetry, and a touch of nostalgia.

Time-warp to 1972 with this Soviet-era masterpiece! The Yu. A. Gagarin Youth Center in Chisinau—a crumbling giant with a wild past. Once buzzing with discos, a 800-seat hall, and even a foreigners-only hotel, now stands as a haunting relic of Moldova’s Soviet days. Don’t miss Aurel David’s epic “Ploughman of the Universe” mosaic—where cosmic ambition meets concrete Demolition looms… would you explore before it’s gone?

Monument to the Revolution “Mrakovica”
Standing tall at one of the highest peaks of Kozara mountain, this stunning 33-meter monument is a powerful tribute to the Partisan fighters and civilians who lost their lives during the WWII Kozara Offensive in 1942.
Designed by Dušan Džamonja and opened in 1972, the sculpture’s concrete fins and steel plates create a profound “game of light and darkness,” symbolizing the struggle between life and death
. The surrounding memorial complex includes a museum and a wall bearing the names of thousands of fallen soldiers.

The Miljevina Motel, also known as Motel EHOS or formerly Motel Bistrica, is a striking example of socialist modernist architecture located in Miljevina, Foča municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Constructed in 1980 the motel was built to commemorate the liberation of Foča during World War II, with its foundation stone laid on January 20, 1980, aligning with the anniversary of the town's liberation by Partisan forces. The Tehvandi Ski Centre (also known as “The Pentagon”) is a striking example of late Soviet modernist architecture in Estonia. Located in Nüpli, Otepää Parish, it was built in 1978 to serve as a biathlon and skiing sports center, taking advantage of the region’s hilly terrain and winter sports tradition. The Tehvandi Ski Centre exemplifies functionalist Soviet sports architecture, where geometric forms were used to create visually bold yet practical structures. Its preservation and continued use demonstrate how post-Soviet Estonia has repurposed modernist landmarks.

The Round Building (Blocul Rotund) in Lujerului Square, Bucharest, designed by architects Dumitru Aurel Badescu and Ana Braniște in 1977–78, stands as a striking example of Socialist Modernism, embodying both the aesthetic and ideological ambitions of its era. Its unique curved form, with an 18-story central wing flanked by two 13-story sections, was conceived as a dominant architectural accent marking the entrance to one of Bucharest’s largest housing developments. The structure’s innovative design—featuring peripheral frames, a central concrete core for vertical circulation, and balconies with inverse curves—reflects a blend of functionalist urban planning and sculptural boldness characteristic of late Socialist architecture.

The ossuary monument in Kavadarci, North Macedonia, designed by Petar Mulichkovski and built in 1976, stands as a striking example of soc-monumental art and modernist architecture. Its bold geometric forms and sculptural concrete structure reflect the innovative approach to commemoration in 20th century Yugoslavia. As part of the broader Spomenik tradition, the monument holds international significance for its unique fusion of art, architecture and collective memory. Documented by B.A.C.U. Association, it contributes to global conversations about modernist heritage and the preservation of postwar memorial landscapes. The ossuary remains an important cultural landmark, showcasing the artistic ambition of Yugoslav monumental art.
