Can’t wait to get this gang back together #tbt This is one of my favorite photos. Taken at the end of a trip through Colorado, Utah and Nevada in the dead of winter.  We survived subzero nights, crashing the van, and getting busted by the cops. Finally finished refurbishing and reviving this old bentwood chair, and put in a custom diagonal pattern seat. After sitting outside our house for a few months, this beaten up chair had two broken legs, no seat pad, and an unfurling seat rail. Spent many nights making it structurally sound before getting to what I thought would be the easy part...fitting each diagonal piece of the seat. After too many hours of cutting, routing, sanding and chiseling, I got each piece to fit snuggly with no nails or glue…complete with a “keystone” piece in the middle that you can slide out to remove the slats on either side. The best part is that it was all free. Found the chair on my block a year ago, and then got the scrap wood strips (lathe) from the back of a contractors truck. Even reaffixed the disintegrating leg connections with some old bondo I had lying around.  It may still be a little bent and rough around the edges, but it feels good to give it new life, and a new place indoors 🔨🏠 #makersgonnamake #woodworking #mygarageismypatio

Looking down on Lake Aloha, 1000 feet below. Left camp with @mbuenon an hour earlier with the intention of going for a short walk before dinner. We ended up chasing the last rays of sunlight up a ridge, and kept having those "let's go a little bit higher" moments. Eventually, the peak was within striking distance, and we knew what we had to do. We scrambled our way to the top, and were were rewarded with an incredible view of the #desolationwilderness. After the sun dipped, we quickly and carefully (hi mom) climbed down...another valuable lesson to #alwaysbringyourheadlamp
