From my OneDrive On This Day memories the last few days. This was August 2006. Our second trip (of total four!) to Big Sur. This trip was in many ways better than the first because we knew what we were doing and planned more time in Monterey and a long stretch in Big Sur itself. Looking at these today really brought both of us back to those moments, when experiencing that place was new and life changing and awe-inspiring.

These photos are some of my favorites I ever took. Really proud of these, especially the stormy sunset over the ocean. And the eagle, and the butterfly. I had no filter then and put no filter on them now. Some of my best raw photography.

And Steve did that carving of our initials on a hidden bench on the north end. What a memory. What a trip.
