âI see... Miss Bryantâll be fine then,â Lane responded, shrugging indifferently. âNeither? What does that mean?â

âNice to meet you, Miss Bryant. I was back in England for a while so you wouldnât have had the chance anyway. Iâm Ingrid Sawyer.â
âJust Lane is fine. England? Business or pleasure? Nice to meet you, Miss Sawyer.â
I suppose thatâs only fair since I donât know who you are either.
âMy nameâs Lane. Lane Bryant. I just moved here about a week ago. Havenât exactly had a chance to meet the population yet. And you are?â
notapinewood:
âSo this is Salem? It looks better in person than online.â
âReally? You think so? To each their own, I guess.â
What? Â Itâs been a long day at work.
âHey. No judgments here.â
Hey...
So, uhâŚIâm backâŚ
âHello...? I have no idea who you are, sorry.â
clyde-powell:
âOkay but I didnât say or dso anything. Infact Iâve been here pretty much all day. SoâŚâ
âSorry. I just... need a drink. Everythingâs getting a little heightened for me. I need something to numb the pain.â
maebelle-anderson:
âMeaning?â
âMeaning Iâm aching to hit something. And Iâd hate for that something to be you.â
maebelle-anderson:
She holds up her hands in surrender, âThis is the rehab ward. Weâre all going through withdrawal.â
Her eyes narrowed slightly before she nodded. âIâm aware. Though I have to admit Iâm dealing with it a lot more differently than you are.â
âIâd really appreciate it if you just fucked off, alright? I havenât had a drink in a while, I have no idea where I am, and Iâm feeling a little agitated, so I wouldnât want to deal with me right now.â
vannahmilcarek:
Vannah suddenly woke up and started looking around her. She was in some room she had never seemed. Due to human nature, she started screaming, âWhere the fuck am I?â
âWhoa... Can we keep the loud noises to a minimum?â Lane said in an annoyed tone. âThatâd be greatly appreciated, thanks. Now tell me who the hell you are and what youâre doing in here in... wherever the hell we are. Did I sleep with you? Did I do that again?â

âIâm not going to AA. They canât make me.â
âWell, actually, they probably can. But you know... if you really donât want to go, you can hang out with me.â
Lane Bryant is a 22 year old resident of Salem, who contributes to the town by being a musician/barista. Unfortunately for her, she declined the offer to become a minion and has been told they look like the celebrity Crystal Reed.

âWell she lives at night and sleeps all day. Sheâll dance and drink her life away.â
Lane was raised by her grandparents, who took her in after her parents died in a car accident. Her grandfather sparked her love for music at a very young age and it was how she had gotten through the loss of her parents. Her music is unbelievably important to her. However, itâs the kind of important thing she wasnât too eager to expose, especially considering the nature of her lyrics. When she began to write her own songs, she did it more so for the sake of getting the feelings out than to perform.
But music could only take her so far. When she turned thirteen, the added hormones didnât make it easy for her when she thought about her parents and especially not when it came to the anniversary of their death. She fell into a severe depression for a several years, almost overdosing once. It was that close call with death that opened her eyes to the things she could be giving up if she decided to call it a life.
So she began writing music again, she made friends, she lived a life that, to her, was worth living. Of course, a part of her will always be sad about her parentsâ death, but she no longer was going to let that sadness overwhelm her. There was no time in the world to dwell on the horrible things. All she could do now was enjoy her life and thatâs precisely what she did.
In her high school life, she began partying. Excessively. Seeing as her grandparents were well off, it was easy to find the local parties being thrown at her house. She had not a care in the world. She had her music and she had her fun. When she turned 18, she graduated and left with money from her grandparents. She decided not to head to college, instead choosing to travel and play her music. She wouldâve kept living off of her grandparentsâ money, but then they cut her off after an incident.
So now she finds herself in Salem, hoping to find a small job to keep a roof over her head. That is, until she finds something bigger and more permanent, hopefully something to do with music. For now, she would settle for a small job at a coffee shop, making drinks for impatient people, in order to keep food in her mouth.

âOh broken angel. Were you sad when he crushed all your dreams?â
When she was thirteen, she was quite naive. One day, she received an offer to perform at an event, but when she showed up to audition, a man sexually assaulted her. She ran out of there and when she arrived back home, she was too scared that her grandparents wouldnât believe her and so she lied and simply said she screwed up the audition and wouldnât be getting it. Later that day, she tried to kill herself and her grandparents simply wrote it off as her having low self-esteem issues. This incident has also led to her severe attachment issues.
Three years ago, she had been traveling with her grandparentsâ money, her car, and a guitar slung over her shoulder. She seemed as nomadic as she could possibly be. She stayed in a small town for several days during which she performed at a small coffee shop during the day and partied at night. One night, she had gotten into a small fight at the bar. She got extremely annoyed by a guy that would not stop flirting with her and ended up hitting him over the head with a bottle. While she thought she had only knocked the guy unconscious, it was found that she actually killed him. Her grandparents found out about this and while she was able to buy herself out of it by paying a fine, since the guy was harassing her in the first place and she hadnât meant to kill him, her grandparents cut her off. They grew tired of her recklessness and just didnât want to deal with it anymore.
She has severe attachment issues. She doesnât get close to other people and she doesnât want to. She thinks that everyone ultimately just wants something from her and doesnât actually care about her. This has led to many failed relationships and a lot of one night stands.
She once got a gig playing at a coffee shop by sleeping with the manager. She knew that it was between her and another girl and by showing the manager a nice time, she received the gig. This had led to some self-esteem issues about how sheâs not talented enough to receive jobs based on that alone.
