Thoughts for Thinking…

The master piece
Undeniably the best creation of human evolution, and the largest demonstration of the Placebo effect; coffee is. The human brain is a powerful thing, but it also can be vulnerable. The brain suffers from a theoretical paradox by its own creation, called the Placebo effect. The brain can believe anything that it wishes, as long as it has some evidence to back up idea. Americans sped up to 18 billion dollars a year on coffee; but for what? It is believed that coffee wakes oneself up and makes one’s body more energetic. I believe that in fact the human brain wakes itself up. But it is fed the constant information and neatly advertised scientific research to prove itself, making the consumer spend more and more money to get that extra boost of energy, when the human brain has the capability of waking itself up on its own. Which makes coffee a master piece of human manipulation that cannot be undone.

The passerby
One on one situations, of human confrontations. The passerby is known for being antisocial and often distracted. Most everyone that walks from point A to point B is victim of meeting the passerby. But also most everyone has been guilty of doing the same activity at least in one part of their life one has given in to being unsocial, when walking by someone. People phones can be only so entertaining for so long, but it seems like people are just entertained by them when in the presence of someone walking in the opposite direction of them. What you are missing is literally inside the name of passerby, you are passing by an opportunity to meet someone new. So do yourself a favor and next time you walk by someone, say hello. And help to better the community of phasing out the passerby.

Familiar ground
Upon people traveling to different places in their lives people try and find things that relate to similar things previously in their lives. One thing that looks relatively the same no matter where you travel to is grass. People feel more comfortable when there is something that looks like something they remember from their past. They see that soft green rolling background they feel more relaxed and comfortable.

The trenches of college
Entering the college atmosphere everyone is given guidance much like the side wall of the trench. The college system is built to drive one into one path, forward. They drive one forward into the future, along paths of people in the past, hence the trench is already dug before oneself gets gest in. Some people may choose to drop off early and start their life early. At both ends of the trench there are drop offs. When one reaches this point at either length of education oneself has two options, to fall of the end, and not reach ones potential, or to fly, to tread a new path to make their one path and reach their potential.

Point of clarity
Every picture is taken at the point of clarity. There is one part in all of our lives where everything is completely and utterly clear. A photo is just a snap shot of that moment where the photographer felt this moment. It is impossible for anyone to get to this point one day. Anyone at any point is living in this point every single day; there is never a time where anyone drops away from this point. Past events may have you confused as well as future events. But oneself always knows what to do exactly now. When photographers take pictures they rely on their instincts to tell them exactly when the right moment is to take a picture at this point. Then that point becomes clear forever.

Full potential
Look at the cup and tell me what is it? The cup is always full of something. That is how I choose to see the cup. Even when the cup is full there is still potential in it. When the cup fills up the cup has reached only partial of its potential, it still has room to overfill and spread its potential to other cups. When a person learns something they have reached their full potential. But they have the opportunities to learn more things by helping other people to understand what they learned, that is when the cup overfills and spreads. The empty cup get filled eventually and help other cups to learn.

Pose-less personalities
In recent years the human brain has devolved to change its body, when someone puts a camera in front of it. Our first instinct when getting a picture of ourselves is to change our posture to make a different appearance for ourselves. Roland Barthes talked about this in one of his books called “Camera Lucida.” He talked about how we think we can change the picture to be better by making ourselves different. This happens to be true for this generation. With all of the pictures being taken, millions of people changing themselves to “fit the frame” better. With shadows it is another story. The figure is still one’s self and there is no one like it. But one think that oneself doesn’t need to change their posture to make the picture better. Everybody shadow matches their personalities but it is not ruined by a pose.

Meeting folks
It is said that life is a hill. This is true. But the direction of the hill is not defined. There are many types of hills, hills can be life struggles. A hill can be anything from an exam to fighting a disease. Anyone could have been on a hill are starting the climb. When one meets somebody new, they don’t know if the person came from a hill or is starting on a new one. That is the beauty of meeting someone new. Everyone story is different, like their personalities. Everyone hills are different, different heights, different lengths, different obstacles on them, all one would have to do is meet someone new to learn about each other’s hills. So go out and meet someone new and listen to their hill.

The optimized prison
The college students’ colleague, the optimized prison, a place where students are confined by their own will. Every desk in every room has its own personal touch and setting. A different light, organization or not, texture, feel, decorations. All of those things are trying to hide the fact of what it is; a prison. The table is the cell, pencils are the chains. But our minds are the bars. We feel forced by guilt into completing our work or we just flat out do our work for the sake of doing it. There is some force that retains us from leaving, our mind. As soon as we sit down to do our work we don’t want to complete it, we start thinking about something else, and for instance what is outside, what happened recently on my TV show. Things like that make the work space feel like a prison, a prison optimized to fit our needs and personalities.
