So what are the head canon voices for all the characters in DRM-GRLZ?
I don't have any specific voice claims! But I can try my best to describe how they sound, to me, in my head?
Gummy - 'Bright'. Speaks with a slightly higher, buzzing register, feels light, full and cute, but has a strong bassy undertone. She likes peppering giggles around, bubbly "Ehehe!"s here and there, which become more common around people she rly likes. You can always 'hear her smiling'. Her tone is more 'cutesy' and playful with friends but can become lower and gentler when trying to be responsible. Drops the lightness when she's angry, naturally. Has the vibe of someone confident and reassuring but very excitable.
Sherbet - Very low register, bassy and grainy quality. The intent was that she has a Scottish accent, but im unfortunately not good at imitating the accent of my own country. Sounds kind of American when I imitate her, I could not tell you what kind, feels like my natural accent but "slouching". Neutral, calm tone, doesn't feel rushed, but gets LOUD AND SNARLY AS HELL when excited. Shortens words 'n phrases 'cus she dun' care about that fluffy shit. Has the vibe of someone who expects you to already know that she's in charge.
Minnow - Mumbles all of her words to the point it's hard to tell what she's saying sometimes, burying her face in her scarf and mispronouncing things. She doesn't talk much at all, but expect typical pre-pubescent little girl voice, except spoken slowly, unsurely, quietly, shyly. A little bit grainy. Lots of "Mm" and "Oah" reaction noises. Has the vibe of someone who's unsure anything she's saying is worded right, so prefers not to say much at all.
And more brief notes on the minors:
Harmony - Polite, light and gentle but full feeling. Tends to buffer her sentences with Oh's and Uhm's and stuff like that, collecting her thoughts.
Glowstyx - Similar accent situ to Sherbet but without the scottish intent lmao. Speaks real slow with a relatively level tone, usually while chewing food so kinda mumbly and messy. Bassy.
Pompom - High pitched and loud with a shaky, panicky undertone, sometimes gets a LOT higher particularly when she's upset. Speaks very fast! Stumbles over her own words constantly.
Milky Wish - Very airy, slow and gentle tone. Slightly deep. Says things like "oh my", doesn't rush what she says, confident but not at all loud. Closed-mouth chuckles often. Feels like a soft, comforting blanket in vocal form.
Splash - LOUD AND BOISTROUS!!! Screechy almost, announces what she's doing all the time like it's the NEWEST COOLEST THING! SO IMPULSIVE!
Rawry - LOUD LIKE SPLASH! But often prefers to make growls and meowls and other cat noise stims than say words. Gets moody faster too.
Blot - Most monotone voice you can picture. Her voice should be as flat as her lack of expressions. More full and bold sounding than airy, but not loud. Short sentences, always, right to the point.
Ribbon - Curt tone, I tend to lean English accent with her. Speaks very sharply, as if everything offends her. Relatively high pitched but has that slightly deepened tone of a mother telling you off, y'kno?
Flit - High pitched and wavering, always sounds a little nervous. Yelps when startled (easy to do), stutters and hurries her words along maybe faster than she's able to think of them.
If someone's not on this list, that's bc I've not thought about it for very long bc they're probably a bg character. Describing voices is very hard. Feels like I mostly described mannerisms, but it all contributes in a way, I think. Would be a lot easier if I just did some impressions into a microphone, but I'm not really used to recording myself and know I'd make myself cringe ahaha
