Ziegler, who recently made her big screen debut in 2017’s The Book of Henry, has come a long way from starring in Dance Moms, the reality TV series that kickstarted her career. “[Acting] has become one of my biggest passions,” she tells TIME. “It lets me express so many different emotions. When you’re acting, you’re always playing someone else and you’re always getting to experience someone new.” But that doesn’t mean she’s hanging up her dancing shoes. My sister is a very secure person. She’s such an incredible girl. She’s so strong. I think what I’ve taught my sister is you need to stop listening to the people on the Internet. A lot of people have said things about her that are not true at all, like, ‘Oh she’s chubby, she has a fat stomach,’ and she’s literally 13-years-old! You don’t say that to a 13-year-old. I think it’s important that she stays her sassy self because she is crazy, she has a mind of her own, and I think it’s really important that she just does her and doesn’t let anyone get in her way. She’s perfect the way she is.

"you have the same grasp on object permanence as a 6 month old." Not even a 6 month old. I mean, my 6month old niece understood that if I held up a toy and said "Look at the toy!" and then put it down and held up another toy and said "Look at this toy!" that the first one didn't stop suddenly becoming a toy after I used that word about something else.

People aren't "thrown for a loop" because Maddie calls more than one person her best friend- THAT is normal. People are "thrown for a loop" because she cycles through her best friends faster than most people cycle through their closet clothes, and her "best friends" are quickly and easily dropped when she moves on to other people who are bigger and more popular. THAT is what sucks. She drops friends like they're contagious plagues.

why does the concept of maddie having multiple best friends throw so many people through a loop? i refer to lots of my friends as my "best friend" and it's not a big deal? like she's allowed to have lots of close friends and just because you don't see her hanging out with someone constantly doesn't mean she doesn't consider them a best friend or a close friend.

i have never once in my life used the term "best friend" to describe only a single person and i think it's bizarre that some expect a 14 year old to do so.
