“Oh, you’re one of those.” The blond observed with a knowing smirk. “You’re one of those people that has to have their phone taken away at dinner or you’ll be on it the entire time, aren’t you?”

“More power to you then, I guess. What are you going to study?” Chris asked, still curious about how Bryson paid for where she lived and what she ate but not going to continue to pry when she clearly didn’t want to talk about it.
“I don’t know.” The blond shrugged. There wasn’t much that interested them. “I’ll figure it out eventually.”

“Whatever you want,” the shifter replied, turning on his heels and heading back toward the garage. At this time of the day, you could not exactly blaming for not rushing to help Ms.DamselInDistress over here. “Come back tomorrow, we can probably find a date when I can fix it this week.”
“Thanks.” Bryson mumbled , scuffing the ground with their shoe with a sigh. They didn’t even want the car, but they hadn’t thought they’d break it this quickly. “Sorry for coming in after hours. I’ll pay more attention next ime.”

“I try my best,” Chris replied. He wasn’t sure that calling any religion a lie was a good idea, but clearly he didn’t know much about the matter. “What do you mean you don’t do anything? How do you pay your bills?”
“I mean I don’t do anything. Well, I don’t have rent, utilities, a car payment, etc. I don’t have anything to pay. I start university in the fall, not that it really is much of your business.” Bryson sighed, knowing they needed a job, but having not gotten around to asking Dimitri for one.

“He didn’t know about me until I finally went to go talk to him. It’s kind of a long story but since your my new friend I thought you should know.”
“Thank you. For telling me. I guess this makes it easier if I want you to spend the night though. He can’t tell me no to letting his daughter come over.”

“There’s always time to redefine your faith and all that, better late than never. I sort of like to believe someone upstairs is doing something,” He admitted, shrugging. “Certainly you have better things to worry about, right? What do you do for a living?”
“Thank you so much for this born again Christian brochure speech. I’ll be sure to keep it all in my head for the future if I ever want to blindly follow a lie again.” The blond chirped out. “Better things to worry about? Like what? Do? I don’t do anything.”

“You sound like a parent,” Dawn chuckled lightly, the first real glint of a positive emotion she’d felt in a week, “I thought being skinny was a good thing? Isn’t that what Hollywood says?” She shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat until she was full, her stomach feeling bloated with the unusual amount of food that was filling her stomach. “Okay, sure. Fresh air sounds nice.” Rising from her seat, she followed Bryson out into the small garden, breathing in deeply and allowing the fresh air to fill her lungs, the ghost of a smile forming on her lips. “Water,” She said as she held out her hand and a small orb of water formed just above her palm. She was a little rusty when it came to magic, but it felt really good to be able to do it out in the open and without ridicule.
Taking a seat down on the grass next to them, Dawn took the bottle and opened it up, taking a rather eager swig from it and cringing as she swallowed the harsh liquid. “Thank you. I can always buy him more if I need to. But really, thank you again for inviting me over and just… being wonderful. I can’t thank you enough.”
Holding in a scoff, Bryson wasn’t sure how to take that comment. A parent? They weren’t even sure they knew what one of those was anymore. “Being skinny is being skinny. It can mean you’re malnourished, underfed, or wanting for food. It can mean you have a fast metabolism and eat a lot. It can mean it’s just your body type. It’s just being skinny. Being healthy is good, Dawn. Fuck skinny.” The teen sighed as they were practically a twig themselves. Nodding along with the information and Dawn’s display, the blond quirked a small smile. “That’s why we’re friends. Water and Earth go best together.”
Maybe they were just desperate for friends or at least to make Dawn feel better, but the statement was true according to their mother. “He’ll live. Trust me. He has more shit than he knows what to do with. One bottle won’t be missed. You really have to stop thanking me though. It’s what friends do.”

“That’s your car making that noise? I thought I was being attacked by a coughing dinosaur,” the shifter pushed himself off the wall, walking up to the noisy car. “You’re going to need a lift. That’s going to take hours to fix,” he admitted with a grimace. “I need to order the parts.”
“I’m sorry.” Bryson replied automatically, ducking their head in embarrassment. “I don’t know what’s wrong with it, but I can just come back tomorrow and ask you to look at it. You’re closed.” The blond sighed as he said it would take hours to fix. “Please don’t even look at it tonight.”

“I’ll be like a celebrity but my fans are animals, I’ll be hiding in hotel rooms and wearing big hats and sunglasses to get away.”
“I think they’d still sniff you out at the end of the day. It might not help.”

“I suppose no one really wishes for flooding.” Most wouldn’t quite be able to survive it like she would. Plus, Satine had heard somewhere that wolves don’t like water - but that’s probably just a rumor.
“I suppose not.” Though she was sure some of the water witches of the coven would appreciate a flood or at least a constant downpour. Bryson never minded, the earth needed water as it did fire and wind alike. “It would be interesting.”

“Who knows it could happen? I would like the lady who makes my coffee every morning not to have seen me running down the street naked. So if I can’t beat you a tie works for me. Beer can turkeys? I’ve never heard of that before. If he doesn’t I could always buy some but stealing I mean borrowing alcohol seems like a normal daughter thing to do.”
“That sounds like a very personal problem.” Bryson stifled a laugh behind their mouth, but it soon turned curious at one thing the other said. “Wait, daughter? You’re his daughter?” Their eyes narrowed, trying to recall him mentioning her before, but not drawing anything. Bryson knew about Nikolai, so why not Summer? “He never told me about you...”

“You’ve said it at least twice today already, I’m sure. This is provably the third. At this point, it’s just beginning to sound like white noise.” He informed them with raised brows, fingers dancing along the curve of her ass as he pursed his lips in amusement at them. His expression quickly fell at their words though, mouth falling into a pout as he pushed his head back into the pillows “That’s no fun. I thought we were gonna break your new bed in and make out?” His hands loosened despite his words, giving them the option to pull away despite his own wants.
Letting out a self-satisfied chuckle, Bryson looked at him quizzically as they asked, “Only twice? Provably three times? I’m way behind on my quota today then.” Bryson reached out and pinched his side for the white noise comment, not finding it cute or interesting at all. Sucking in their cheeks, the blond looked at the male flatly as they settled over his hips. “Break in my new bed? Did you really just say that? You’re almost ruining what little charm you do possess.” The blond sighed, one hand curving over the back of his neck as they leant down to kiss him again as some silent form of a thank you for not pushing. It only lasted for a moment before the teen patted him on the chest and slid from his lap to head down to their car.

“—-You don’t think all this rain will flood the town, do you?” There’s a small hint of wonder in her voice, blue eyes flicking skyward. While it’s not a prospect she would wish, Satine is too attached to her iPhone to get it wet, she can’t help imagining what it would be like exploring the town underwater.
Looking over at the other curiously, Bryson only raised one brow and shrugged. “I didn’t think it was raining that much. It seemed like just a normal Spring shower, but anything is possible.” They figured it could happen, not likely to, but it could.

“You’ll have to come back tomorrow, I’m done for the day,” the shifter pointed at the clock on the wall which indicated 7.30 pm, then smiled apologetically at the person standing in the door way.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Bryson mumbled flatly. “I can come back tomorrow. My car is just making a noise, but I’ll call and make an appointment.” The blond sighed, figuring they’d rather walk home than chance it with the weird groaning noise the engine was making.

“You’ll have to lead the way. I have no idea where anything is. Don’t worry I believe you. Out of curiosity what if there’s a tie? On like Donkey Kong is a great line I don’t know what your talking about. I don’t mind doing it again as long as I have my friend Jack Daniels.”
“Fine, follow my lead. Try not to be too behind, I want this to be a good challenge. A tie? I guess we both win then. On like Donkey Kong is one of those horrible parts of human culture like camouflage and beer can turkeys. I think DImitri has that lying around the house. I think I Could find some for you.”

“Just wait your going to be jealous of my ninja laser tag skills. Well you’re on and it’s on like Donkey Kong. When I win I won’t rub it in too much. Well between us it’s not my first time running down the street naked.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it. I have some tricks up my sleeve and skills as well, you know? I’ve never lost at laser tag. On like Donkey Kong? Yeah, I’m definitely talking to an eight year old. Oh, really? So when you have to do it again, it should be like a trip down memory lane.”
