Introduction, aka "What's the meaning of this?"
Since the game servers officially closed Aglaia's experiments have concluded, hopeful discussions took rounds around Lumia : the researchers and test subjects finally had a chance to be released back to where they came from. For the first time, experiment's administration allowed everyone to roam the island without the looming threat of death. Logistics and infrastructure finally begun to re-establish around Lumos Island.
It all was harshly put to a stop when Dr. Ersha stepped in.
"Release them? With all their trauma? Outdated knowledge? Immortal bodies?"
Talks about return home have been temporarily postponed by the researcher team. For the first time in experiment's history, subject's rehabilitation became a top priority.
This is how it unfolded...
This is "challenge"/purist run of Tomodachi Life : Living a Dream, dedicated to recreating Black Survival setting as canonically as possible
The focus of my run is what is currently known as Immortal Souls : Black Survival, a now discontinued entry in the Black Survival franchise. Due to my nostalgic feelings and limited access to game's content since server shutdown, I will always prioritise canon established under ArchBears over NimbleNeurons, and will primarily source my information from published manhwas (Bottomless Pit & OG), Medium posts (Apocalypse Ark), Experiment's Backstory and Research Files. In case of doubt and lack of information, I will head over to the Japanese wiki and look through old illustrations and concept art (will really come in handy for all side-characters).
Guidelines for my challenge are as follows :
Populate the island with every known living IS:BS character at least up to first mentions of VF (Vital Force);
Populate the island according to the canonical timeline, aiming to represent their canonical age. If character's alleged appearance on Lumos predates their addition to the game, I will bend the order accordingly;
Whenever possible, only buy (and, once allowed, introduce myself) food and items that were in the actual item pools in IS:BS. If Tomodachi Life has an equivalent item (f.ex. "Fried Egg"), I will not be redundant and reintroduce an IS:BS one. If at any point it will seem narratively fit, I will begrudgingly allow new items in the pool.
Populate the vocabulary with character relevant actions/hobbies/etc. as much as possible. Due to the nature of IS:BS, many characters have been canonically preoccupied in all sorts of activities from cooking human meat to religious service to guerrilla warfare, and I want to capture that diversity to it's fullest.
Researchers will refer to other test subjects by their code names, and will be referred to as Dr. X (with notable exception for canonical researcher-subject relationships).
I will attempt to force canonical ships (Jenny/Fiora) and community's favourite (Hyunwoo/Isol, Alex/JP, William/Hart) to happen, as well as leave most if not all characters as bi; however, if such event occurs, there will be no children staying on the island. Immortal bodies cannot conceive, and we have limited space here.
This project is commemorative. The playthrough is being recorded, and will eventually be published on YouTube.
