My Client's Loc Extensions pt.2 More Pics

So I had a client who wanted loc extensions AND who didn't want to grow his hair for a few more weeks.  His hair was around 1 inch long.

I wouldn't advise this if you are a client looking for loc extensions because they are very fragile at first, since they are so short and have less of a base to work with. 

Plus with hair that short you have to do like a million parts and you'll be in here forever.  Ain't nobody got time for that!

He was VERY happy with the end result!

They are not done as tightly as normal barrel locs because she wanted to take it down and wear it curly in a few days.

She LOVES Her Twists!

These are her pictures she sent me lol. And I appreciate that :)

These are long 2 strands/Senegalese twists.  They aren't kinky twists. We left the ends long and straight.

I braided her hair and she said "Oooh this is pretty, you should take the picture!" After about the third suggestion, I picked up what she was puttin' down.

To Anyone Who Has Done More Than One Big Chop!

I had done the "Big Chop" 3 times before I started this set of locs. I wore them for less than a year. Now I'm on to "Big Chop" #4. Oh well.

Testing Parnevu Organic Hair Mayonnaise

I found this at the beauty supply along with a lot of other products that I'm being very slow to review.  Probably because I'm not that good at taking pics.

It was about $6.00 for a 16 oz jar.  That's a good price especially with some of these "natural" products prices.  Not that it's billed as being for Naturals, I've just noticed that some of the prices on these products are up there.

Anyway I tried this on my daughter before I braided her hair in cornrows.  I wanted to build up her hair's strength since she insists on killing her hair with the flat iron :/

It was a good product but I wouldn't recommend using it without a follow up moisturizer since the hair seemed a little bit hard.

I didn't use anything other than the Parnevu Organic Hair Mayonnaise since I wanted to see how it worked on its own.

The verdict?  I liked it but it threw me off because I was expecting it to be a little more moisturizing by itself.  WILL purchase again!

Her hair after blowdrying only and NO OTHER oils, creams, or conditioners in her hair.  It is nice and shiny and feels stronger.  I was surprised how now it felt after only drying it since it felt kinda hard when it was wet.

Here is her little protective style- cornrows in the front with box braids in the back.  Since she can't keep her hands out of her head I have to braid it up.

I don't know what this other face.  Sometimes she acts like a maniac lol!

Beautiful Curls~My Client Brought in All of These Products

I almost passed out when I started pulling these out of the bag :)  I am an admitted "product junkie" and I don't care!  I liked Curl Control Custard, which was actually more like a watery gel and the and the Curl Activating Shea Butter Leave In the most out of all of the products. 

The Curl Activating Leave In comes in two formulas:  one for wavy/curly and the other for kinky hair.  They both worked about the same to me but I couldn't stand the smell of the one for kinky hair.  It was sickeningly sweet- but that's just how I am after smelling hair products all day for 15 years.

I put the leave in in my client's hair and it made detangling so easy it was ridiculous!  Seriously I wanted to call all of the most difficult tangled/heads in and comb them all out!

The Curl Control Custard laid her edges into a nice smooth wave pattern.  Better than the tiny pomade they had in their line.  

So the Curl Control Custard and the Curl Activating Leave In are my top picks!

P.S.  I have NEVER had a client be so happy with how ONE product, let alone TWO     made her hair feel.

P.P.S. The shampoo was pretty nice too, but we were all caught up in the other two :)

“My natural hair doesn’t make me brave…my extensions don’t mean I’m afraid” (by chescaleigh) My girlfriend Nicole and I had quite a chuckle during fashion week when the door girl complimented Nicole’s fro by saying she was “so brave”. Um…thanks? And while I’m always flattered when people compliment my locs, I can’t stand that so many then criticize women wearing perms, weaves and extensions in the same breath. How you decide to wear your hair is your own personal choice. The Worst Hair for Two Strand Twists

My daughter just had some of THE WORST hair for two strand twists ever in her hair. When I find a pic of the package or go back to the store I will put it up. It was by Freetress and normally I like most of their hair.  But this was the devil!  The hair was in the section where the rest of the hair for two strands is and it looks like afro/kinky hair.

She had twists that were just dropping off everywhere and it was a mess! My hair is super short right now and it lasted better that hers because I used the Motown Tress Marley Hair.  Well it lasted better because I didn't use that junk.
