Valentine’s Day was one of her favorite days of the year, which was why she dressed with a beaming smile on her face, pulling on a pair of her favorite shorts along with a simple white t-shirt and pink cardigan. Gathering her dark red hair in her hands, and making a note to dye it again soon, she put it up in a messy bun so it wouldn’t get in the way as she did her makeup. Applying a light coat of foundation, eyeliner, mascara and a shade of light pink lipstick to her lips, she deemed herself reading for a fun day. Reaching up she undid her bun allowing the dark red locks to fall down in natural waves just as the door opened. “I could have been naked in here for all you know.” she, turning around to face her best friend, a teasing smile on her lips. “Hi Noah!” she greeted brightly, walking towards him and throwing her arms around him to show him that she indeed did give the best bear hugs.
"Damn, you ain’t even giving me the chance to tell you how good you look or that your gift is downstairs." he chuckled, wrapping his own arms around her and placing a small kiss to her forehead. Valentine’s was never his thing, Puck never had time for all the corny bullshit that went on during the 14th. While his first plans involved the strip club with his brother, he was kind of glad he was going to spend some time with Lily. There was no pressure and after talking to Lexi about his v-day plans, it never really dawned on him just how much the two acted like a couple.
"Now come on, I know you wanna see your gifts from bae number two. Grab your bag and shit and let’s get going." Heading downstairs he couldn’t help the smile that was on his face when his four foot something bear was on the couch with some heart shaped balloons and some chocolate to go along with it. "If I’m not the best fuckin’ best friend ever, I really don’t know what you consider a best friend." he smirked, motioning her to grab the gifts.
"I always look good." she replied cheekily, tilting her head to look up at him. Her brown eyes widening at the mention of a gift. She had planned on spending her Valentine’s day at the gym laughing at her team’s man-hating rants while they practiced. But spending time with her best friend was a much better alternative. Pulling away from him she grabbed her cross body bag and a large red and black bag that contained various types of chocolates, including his favorite, a cheesy teddy bear and a batch of chocolate covered strawberries. "For you." she grinned pushing it into his hands. "You can leave it here if you don’t want to carry it around all day."
Without thinking much of it she grabbed his hand and pulled him down to the sitting room, an exited smile on her face. Upon seeing the large dark fured bear on the couch she let go of him hand. “Noah!” she exclaimed spinning around to face him and throw her arms around him again. “Thank you.” she hurriedly placed a quick kiss on his cheek, her lips a bit too close to his lips. Before she could think too much of it she turned back around and hugged the bear that was almost taller than her. “You’re the best ever.” she declared.
Seeing her light up and smile as big as she did, brought a smile to his own face. No one understood the friendship they shared and as much teasing he faced for being “soft” with Lily, he didn’t care. Besides his mother, she was the only constant woman in his life, the one he could trust his life with. They were polar opposites but they somehow got along just great. She was his bestfriend and nothing was going to come in between that. Even if sometimes he wondered about a relationship and just how much they’d ‘fit’ with one another.
Pushing those thoughts aside, he watched her hug the bear and laughed at how big the damn thing was. “I know I am. Yanno, for a side piece I’m doing just fine. Bet Lexi wouldn’t get you something like this.” he teased, wrapping his arm around her waist. “Now I hate to break your bonding session with the bear but we gotta get going. I’m hungry and I wanna make fun of all the couples being all extra lovey in the streets. Lets go miniature.”
The thought of making fun of couples for being lovey amused the small brunette to no end. People that didn’t know them, and even those that did, often confused them for a couple and of doing exactly what Noah wanted to make fun of them for doing. Rolling her eyes at her best friend she grabbed some of the chocolates and stuffed them in her bag, before taking out a sticky note and scribbling down something before sticking it to the giant bear.
"Let’s not pretend that you so wouldn’t act like one of those couples if you had someone you really, really like." she teased him, allowing him to pull her away from her gifts. Her hand automatically reaching for his, so they wouldn’t drift from one another, or that’s what she told herself. "You would so buy her one of those huge huge ballons that say ‘I heart you’ and get her some expensive chocolates. Probably attempt to cook something but end up buying take out." she grinned up at him.
It was crazy how much Lily understood him. Not many people did and as they ventured towards their food truck destination a couple blocks up, he realized just how much they did act like a couple. Hand holding was the norm for them, kisses on the cheek and his stupid forehead kisses he made sure to give her before saying goodbye. Puck was used to this routine, used to this closeness and used to always being by her side.
"Oh you mean like the bear I got you? Yeah, we totally act like those fuckers." he teased, giving her hand a small squeeze as they finally arrived at the first truck. "I didn't ever think I'd meet someone that can handle my inner foodie, but you surprised me. What you want? I'm buying this first round."
