I am stuck.

I have this story on my head about a character going back on time and saving his mentor.

But every time I try to start writing I don't know how to do it 😭 it's ridiculous, how do I express what he is feeling upon seeing his mentor? Do I describe everything around him?

A grumpy man and his feral son

The grumpy old man being Tsu’tey.

And the feral son being Spider. 

Okay hear me out, Tsu’tey surviving the Battle for the Tree of Souls and somehow finds himself as the caretaker for Spider. It’s a very lengthy progress considering he hates Sky People and he’s injured etc. But he has a soft spot for kids, and clearly this one isn’t getting the care he deserves. 

One thing leads to another, and he’s looking after a baby Sky Person.

At this moment, an almost imperceptible smile graced his face: everything was finally coming to an end.

Once again, this is an exercise in capturing my interpretation of Snape's expression, depicting the scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when Harry returns to Hogwarts and enters the Great Hall, just before Snape is expelled by Professor McGonagall.

The composition is not mine, taken from a movie screenshot. My impression of that scene is that Snape's colours gradually fade, as if even his expression is losing its hue.

I believe that, in that moment, his heart was filled with a sense of serenity as the dust settled.

Navi Spider AU!

Some little facts n tidbits about this version of Spider-

5 fingers, but he’s missing part of his pinky on his left hand after getting it caught in old debris left behind from the first battle with the sky people

His eyes are just slightly too brown to pass as fully Navi

He was raised by recom Quaritch his entire life. The pair lived a very nomadic life style up until Spider found out about Quaritch’s past life and his actions

After he ran away, he was unwelcomed by most clans, due to the rumors and stories about him and his dad, two rouge, killer Navi who broke the laws of Eywa and lived outside of any loyalties or communities

He met Lo’ak after settling down near an ikran nest, where Lo’ak was moping and skulking about. They immediately disliked each other

spider has a weird relationship with Eywa. He was never taught the importance of her because Quaritch knew nothing.

Because of this he’s almost chronically unbalanced. Emotions volatile, his interpretation of intents and actions are quick and often off based, overall distrustful

I don't know if the sun in Pandora works the same way on human skin (I'm going to assume it does!) But in my hc Tsireya and Spider are friends, since she doesn't know anything about humans, she gets terrified when she sees the back of Spider.
