J-MODELS | APEX, NEXUS, IMUS

The J-MODELS are a line of experimental recom bodies created under Doctor Nine’s research, using Sgt. Gouveia as their genetic and neurological base. Each model represents a different stage of her work: from efficiency, to enhanced performance, to full cognitive reconstruction.

IMUS was the intended outcome of the Força Furtiva project. He resembles the original Sgt. Gouveia the most and is the most stable and practical of the three. He is easier to maintain, less costly to deploy, and closest to what the original model was supposed to be.

NEXUS is a more advanced but flawed result. He is stronger and more capable than Imus, his body demands too much from itself. At 12 ft tall, his recom body pushes past the practical limits of size and performance, making him extremely powerful but metabolically inefficient. His musculature, circulation, oxygen demand, and nervous system all require a much higher energetic cost than Imus, which makes him difficult to maintain and unsuitable for constant deployment. He retains fragments of Gouveia’s memories and identity, but not enough to truly be him.

APEX is the final and most dangerous model. He was designed as a cognitive-combat recom, carrying Gouveia’s full memories, identity, and mental capacity inside an enhanced body. Apex does not suffer Nexus’s physical deficiencies, but that does not make him safe. Nine solved the body problem by making him more efficient, more stable under strain, and easier to sustain physically, but the cost shifted to the mind. His real flaw is not metabolic. It is cognitive. He is too complete, too autonomous, and too difficult to control. On paper, he is the “perfect” soldier, but his lack of mental limitations and high percentage of Ä’rios DNA make him unstable and difficult to control.

Imus is the stable prototype, Nexus is the costly upgrade, and Apex is the perfected mistake.

At the end of the day, their loyalty is absolute to Dr. Nine.
