Carpet, Paul Follot, Paris, 1919-1920, hand-knotted wool, Victoria and Albert Museum.

From the V&A:

Paul Follot (1877-1941) designed this carpet made of hand-knotted wool in 1919-1920. The clustered flower heads and arabesque decoration are characteristic of French luxury objects of the time. Follot was a French furniture designer whose first pieces were in the Art Nouveau style. He adapted his work to suit the tastes of the 1920s. In 1923 he became director of the design studio Pomone, which was attached to the Paris department store Au Bon Marché. In 1928 he collaborated with Serge Chermayeff (1901-1996) to design some of the first French Art Deco furniture. Waring & Gillow’s department store made made this widely available to the British public.

Stencils seen in Iran featuring the names and faces of women murdered by cops during the ongoing protests following the death of Jina Mahsa Amini, a 22 year old Kurdish woman who was murdered by the morality police after being arrested and beaten for supposedly incorrectly wearing a hijab.

For Mehsa, Nika, Sarina, Mino, Hadith, Hajar, Hadida, Hanana, Aisan and every other woman whose life was stolen these days, because she cried out for freedom.
