“If by ‘good intentions’ you mean ‘snatch your lunch right out of your hands,’ then yeah, that’s what he wanted. Toothless, down!” he exclaimed as Toothless made a second attempt to swipe the stranger’s snack. “Sorry, sorry- again. He has a thing for human food. Who doesn’t, right?” Scratching Toothless’s head in order to calm him, Hiccup smiled at the stranger. “Thanks! Most people think it’s stupid since he has teeth, but it’s really supposed to mean that he’s harmless- and I couldn’t name him that.”

“Eh, I can’t really blame him-- he was just hungry,” Gogo reasoned, though she was quick to pack her lunch up swiftly and stuff it back into her bag. “It’s okay, really! I mean, who wouldn’t like a nice BLT?” Holding her hand out for Toothless to sniff, the brunette couldn’t help the fond smile playing across her lips as the dog inched towards her. “Really? It’s such a clever name, and who says pet names have to be traditional? A few of my friends teased me about my cat’s name, but if you like it, fuck what they think.”

“Yeah, I don’t know if the Notebook is the best example of what love is. I mean, are people in love really at each other’s throat’s like that?” Gogo wondered. She didn’t exactly have anything to compare to the whirlwind romances in movies, but she never pictured love like that at all. Perking up at the thought of a horror movie night, the brunette replied, “Now that sounds like a much better way to spend an evening. You know I’m always down for a good horror movie.”

I eat salads just like every other person trying to lie to themselves that they’re healthy in Sunnyside.” Kim smirked as someone sidled up next to her while she was in her new uniform. “You’re doing way better than I am. I don’t even try to lie to myself anymore-- during the semester, I practically have the diet of a teenage boy,” Gogo laughed. “I’m more of a muffin girl myself, but I won’t say no to a doughnut,” she replied with a grin. “So you get a badge and everything? That seems so official. You’re not going to turn into a square now, are you?”

wendy looked down, a smile tugging at her lips, “Well it’s pleasure to make your acquaintance,” her fingers laced together, “so are you always chasing down your cat or is this my lucky day?” wendy had always wanted a cat to call her own. she loved dogs, especially her nana, but there was no denying the almost 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓂𝓈𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓁 nature a feline friend could bring. “I’ve always wanted a cat, and I feel like the world is giving me so many signs to just go and get one.”

“It must be your lucky day, because I rarely have to take this fuzzball to the vet,” she replied, grinning down at her squirmy son. “He was just due for some annual vaccines and thought he could get out of it.” Perking up when she said that she had always wanted a cat of her own, Gogo asked, “Well, I guess this is another sign, huh? Being a cat parent is definitely an adventure, but it’s so worth it. How long have you been wanting a cat?”

             “ AREN’T ALL CATS convinced of that ? “, jim wondered out loud, not the smallest hint of humor in his voice as he kept his eyes fixed on that cat. jim might not have a cat himself, nor is he on top of the ‘ meme game ‘ or whatever, but even he had stumbled across these jokes about cats wanting to take over mankind and honestly, it might as well be true. “ oh i see – well, can’t blame him for running away, huh ? “, he asked as he smirked, giving the small cat’s head a caress.

“Yeah, most of them think they’re hot shit. But I’m the one that feeds him and knows where the catnip is, so we know who’s actually the alpha at home,” she replied, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. It’s true, a lot of the cats that she had met throughout her life were much smarter than people gave them credit for, but Gogo was confident that she was even smarter. “I guess not. No one likes going to the doctor. But if I didn’t take him, then I’d be a terrible cat parent.”

“I would like to try and make some Moroccan, it can’t be that hard, right? So far, the hardest dish I’ve tried has been poached eggs, they always ended up liquifying in the water. You’ll be the first one I call when I make couscous and khobz“.

“I’m not sure-- I’m not exactly the best cook myself. But you could always look up a recipe and see how difficult it’ll be,” Gogo reasoned thoughtfully. “And I’d be happy to be your test taster if it means eating more of your amazing food.”

      ╰ · ☾ ›  RELIEF WASHED OVER morgan’s tiny frame when gogo seemed to agree with her about the movie. there was just no substance or anything really exciting. sure, love was sort of exciting but mostly it was just sort of sickening. “ i guess you have a point. trash reality tv is pretty entertaining. much more entertaining than that movie. “ she laughed, looking over at her friend. “ yeah, maybe it does. but no one that i’ve spoke to ever really seems to have the answer. which seems a bit fishy to me. which leads me to believe it’s not real. “

“Right? There’s something enthralling about watching people you don’t know being overly dramatic on TV and making absolute fools of themselves,” Gogo laughed. With all of the time she spent with her nose in textbooks, trashy shows and movies had always been a guilty pleasure of hers. “I can get behind a cheesy movie on occasion, but that was painful. I’m sure it’s real,” she reasoned, glancing down at the pavement. “Maybe we just haven’t experienced it yet... but it has to be, right? It might not be as flowery as romcoms make it out to be, though.”

Today was a great day: one of her students turned five! Like with many past students, Joy brought it upon herself to make the treats herself as a way to say ‘Happy Birthday!’ to her little ones. Only problem was, she went a little overboard and made more than was needed. After sharing some cupcakes with any of her fellow teachers, children, and parents who may wanted one, she decided to go around town to see if anyone wanted some. “Hello!” The brunette said cheerfully, holding the container carefully in her hands. “Would you like a cupcake or two? There’s vanilla and chocolate and the frosting is buttercream with some sprinkles.”

Huffing as she made her way to a nearby coffee shop, Gogo was so desperate to get out of the sun’s war path, she hardly noticed the person approaching her until they were practically right in front of her. “Oh, sorry,” she blurted, glad she hadn’t caused a collision in her hurry to get into a building with air conditioning. “Um, sure-- I guess,” she said, offering her a gracious smile. Gogo didn’t indulge her sweet tooth as much as she impulsively ordered takeout, but she certainly wasn’t going to turn down free cupcakes. “I’ll take a chocolate one,” she decided, reaching into the container. “Thanks. So what's the occasion? Or do you just carry those around?”

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐌 𝐈𝐍 𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐘 𝐆𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐘 – he would only stop briefly to take a sip from the questionable substance bubbling in the large cup next to him. it was no secret that ron stoppable absolutely loved his fast food ( if only his culinary teacher saw him now, how disappointed she’d be! ), taking in pleasure with every single bite. he was pretty much a connoisseur for it now, rightfully so, never ordering the same thing twice as he saw no point in not taking risks – food was his kind of adventure, after all! he had barely noticed the slightly judgemental looks thrown at him as he shovelled his way through his daily doses of fat in euphoria before something caught his attention. eyeing the person before him, he held out a burrito in an act of… camaraderie? “want some?” he asked barely having finished chewing.

Although Gogo certainly didn’t have a healthy diet by any means-- with her grad student budget and affinity for late night fast food runs-- she had never seen someone inhale that much food since she still lived at home with her brothers. Those were the days when she practically had to throw elbows to get her fair share of dinner. Almost impressed by how quickly the boy worked through the pile of food, she couldn’t help the amused chuckle that escaped her lips when he offered her one of his burritos. “I mean, if you can manage to spare one,” she joked, accepting his offer at taking a seat across from him. “I’m definitely not in a position to turn down free food.”

It was a day off for Hiccup, meaning no classes and all his chores were done, so of course, he was spending time with Toothless. As the two strolled through the streets of Sunnyside, Toothless stopped and pointed with his snout. Hiccup looked in the direction his dog pointed, and noticed somebody holding food in their hand. “Toothless, that’s not your food,” Hiccup said as he tried to steer the Retriever with his leash. “Come on, let’s- HEY!” Toothless zoomed so hard towards the person with food that the leash slipped through Hiccup’s fingers. Luckily, Hiccup was able to catch up to Toothless and grab him away right before he snatched the person’s food away. “Sorry about that,” said Hiccup as he struggled to calm Toothless down, “he has a really good sense of smell- I mean, all dogs do, I guess- and he’s hungry.” Hiccup fed Toothless a treat from his pocket, and he was satisfied.

In what she could only describe as a moment of utter desperation and boredom, Gogo had decided to spend the afternoon at the park. Usually it was the last place she’d want to be-- with the sweltering sun beating down on her and the crowds of strangers that were all too ready to strike up a conversation-- but all of her friends were busy, and she was starting to get stir crazy in her apartment alone. Planting herself in a shady spot underneath a large tree and digging into her lunch, it wasn’t long before her quiet afternoon was interrupted by a very friendly stranger. “Oh-- God,” she uttered in surprise, but managed a faint smile at the dog. “That’s alright, he seems like he had good intentions.” Though she normally wouldn’t go out of her way to strike up a conversation with someone she didn't know, she had always had a soft spot for animals. “Nice to meet you, Toothless. Great name, by the way.”

       ╰ · ☾ ›  EXITING THE MOVIE theater, morgan tossed a bucket of half consumed popcorn into the trash and let out the most exaggerated sigh her tiny body could manage. “ i’m just so SICK of romcoms. “ she began to explain, kicking rocks up off the sidewalk as she began to stroll. “ love like that, you know, that can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series, kind of stuff, that ain’t real. right ?? “ if it was real, why had her father never married and why did her real parents toss her out on the street ?? those were the sort of question’s that kept the small girl up at night. “ you ever been in love like that? “

Popping the last few of her Sour Patch Kids into her mouth, Gogo discarded of the box swiftly as she and Morgan left the theater behind them. “Okay, you have a point there-- that was a garbage movie. But everyone needs some mindless entertainment every now and then, right? I mean, why else would reality TV be so popular?” she wondered, clearly dancing around the subject. Although she could come off as a cynic, there was still a hopeful dreamer inside of Gogo-- the same girl that believed that her ideas could change the world. “I don’t think I’ve ever been in love at all, actually... but maybe it exists out there somewhere. I might not be the right person to ask.”

“Pri-Pride month is over, bu-but I still think it’d be nice to co-con-congr-gra-congr- to say good job to everyone may-making it though the year,” Ferris mumbled a little louder so the person across from him could hear. He’d lived in town his entire life, it always sort of confused him how Sunnyside didn’t do their own pride parade.

“Now that’s definitely something I could get behind. But why just a month? Pride month is every month as long as you’re being true to yourself,” Gogo declared, popping her gum in her mouth-- an idle habit. Though she had never been the kind of person that hid parts of herself, or held her tongue for that matter, she knew not everyone was as comfortable in their own skin as she was.

         JIM WASN’T YOUR typical animal lover – though he didn’t mind animals either. he just never had a pet growing up, never had a bond with one. but that didn’t mean he didn’t wish to have that… in all honestly, jim simply wasn’t sure how to do it – take care of a living and breathing creature. god, he sometimes even struggled with looking after himself. when the white ball of fluff wandered towards where he was standing, jim’s lips curled up into a small smile as he bowed down to let his fingers run through the fur. “ it’s all good. “, he said as he stood back up straight, emerald eyes fixing on gogo. “ is he sick ? “, he wondered, lifting a brow.

Scooping up the white cat, Gogo managed a grin at his gracious response. Though she herself would never understand people that were apathetic towards animals, or even those that were genuinely terrified of them, she knew they existed out there somewhere. “Thanks. I swear sometimes I think he’s convinced himself that he’s smarter than me,” she scoffed at the notion, shaking her head at Kimchi. She had never been great with people before-- she tended to be blunt to the point where most found her abrasive-- but she certainly had a soft spot for her furry child. “No, he’s not sick. He was just due for his annual vaccines.”

☁*·ﾟGIGGLING, SHE KEPT her eyes on the small fluffy kitten. “is he friendly?” camila asked, incredibly curious about this small cat. she loved animals, but was honestly afraid to get one of them. she either would be so busy that the animal would run away for feel neglected or she’d never leave the house and lose all her job and volunteer hours. “it’s perfectly okay. i bet i’d be the same if i had an animal. he just sounds so stinking cute! i think the only animal i’d successfully be able to take care of is a fish and even that’s stretching it!” camila explained, laughing.

“He’s definitely a lot more of a people person than I am,” she said, a warm grin tugging at the corners of her mouth as she looked down at Kimchi. He had an affinity for people watching, and on the rare occasions that Gogo actually invited people over to her apartment, they would surely leave covered in his white hair. “You could definitely take care of fish-- especially if you got one of those electronic filters they have. Plus you can get super creative putting together a fish tank,” Gogo mused, though she’d never had one of her own. “Have you ever had a pet of your own?”
