“watch where you swing that thing, would you!?” barely dodging the giant… gumball machine, blackberry stepped back. “abandoned?” why does EVERYONE always think that? “no, it’s not, i live here, actually…i’m blackberry cookie.”

“i’m not scary, you haven’t even seen scary,” blackberry frowned and turned around, “you can’t trespass on other people’s property you know…” her voice turning threatening.

“Waaaaa--!  Sorry!”  He cowered back a bit and rubbed his paint covered hands together.

“Wa-Wait----!!  You live here!?”  Bubblegum looked around, noticing it was surprisingly clean, and not ridden with cobwebs or dust bunnies.  A small detail he overlook.  Drats.

“Guess I’ll leave then, I didn’t expect anybody to live in this old gothic-styled mansion.”  Bubblegum immediately turned around, figuring it was at least an hour walk back to where he had been staying.

blackberry appeared behind the intruder, “i find that quite rude, i work very hard to keep this place clean.” she blankly stared at the colorful stranger, he stood out against the dark exterior of the mansion. “who are you?” 

“Waah---!” Bubblegum turned around and almost smacked Blackberry with his Bubblegum cannon, “Who are...yooou??”  He squinted, “Wasn’t this place abandoned??”

“Why are you so scary, lady----?!”

“Heheh....I’m sure this place is around here somewhere...”  The homeless child looked around for some mansion, “I’m certain I could break in and sleep for the night...Pretty sure it’s abandoned.”

Hey, not every guy-! (Soda sighed and looked down for a second. Bubblegum was pretty accurate on the matter, but..) I..I could try and keep you occupied! Would you be willing to try with me..?

“I guess, but if I get bored, well let’s just say this beach will probably be many colors you couldn’t have even imagined!”  Bubblegum clapped at the idea, “Now!  First order of business!  Destroying the witch’s house!”  Bubblegum honestly had no clue what he was getting into.

Once he was on the ground, he put his hand over Owlcorn’s beak to shut him up.  “Shhh, it’s not oil based, it’ll come out.  But I guess you could call me a paint wizard!”  Bubblegum gave his signature grin, “We’re currently trying to liven up the place a bit, but I’m the only guy here from what I’ve seen!”

Bubblegum didn’t quite seem to connect that she was a magic apprentice, and that’s why she was actually here, “What brings you to this ghost town?”

“I paint wizard… Wooow, I didn’t know those existed!” Creampuff said in awe, tilting her head to get a good look at that giant metal… Contraption on Bubblegum’s back. Was that some kind of magic paint launcher? It must be powerful.

“Oh!! Oh, yes… I’m here because I want to learn from powerful wizards. I’m training to be one, you see… Would you teach me how to do that paint magic of yours? A-after we clean up a bit, sir?”

Owlcorn was miffed at being silenced, but at least the news wasn’t bad. He’d be clean in no time.

“There’s not much teaching to do, kid.”  Bubblegum released one of his gumballs from it’s storage and cracked it open, “You just gotta be good at mixing ingredients and not make them smell, look, or taste like garbage!  A difficult task I’d be willing to teach...If it wasn’t a secret.”  The rascal kid himself decided to have some fun, maybe he could get her to do his chores!  Or fix Mini Jackson 82!

G-GAH! That’s.. Not true! Not true at all, not every guy-! (He was obviously flustered, and looked away, embarrassed.) It’s no one’s business if i’m flirty.. So.. (He paused and shrugged.) ..Was that a yes?

“Persistent are we?”  Bubblegum just shook his head and paced around, “Is it like your goal or something to get into every dude’s pants or something?”  He meant quite literally though.

“Depends on if you can keep me occupied I guess???”

“Hey!”  Yelled a voice from the rooftops, “That’s not a statue!”  He said as he scaled down the building he was painting.

“Sorry bout that, eighty five is a bit slow and thought you were a statue!”  Bubblegum yelled at her.  Looks like the city wasn’t completely abandoned at least!

“Come back, I won’t hurt you!”

“W-what? Who are…” She turned around, looking up at the figure on the roof of a house. In that light, the little man looked magical. “…Are you a wizard? How many of you are still here?” She asked curiously, cautiously coming back toward the building Bubblegum stood on. “Is this paint..?” Owlcorn coughed and wiggled in Creampuff’s grip. “Ugh, this is simply dreadful… I just groomed myself earlier! Now I’m covered in paint, this better be easy to wash out… You up there! Leader of these little robots! You better have running water wherever you’re taking us because I need a good washing!”

[ bubblegumvandalizer ] Cream Puff, after many, many days of traveling, finally reached the City of Wizards. She had left the minute she heard it was open after many centuries. She had expected to find many ancient, powerful wizards to train her to become the great witch she wanted to be. But instead, she found an empty ghost town, with the only life being from weird little colorful alien things? That were spitting paint everywhere? She was frightened, and gripped her wand tightly as she prepared to defend herself. “Now now, Cream Puff, relax. You’ll struggle to pull off a defense spell shaking that hard.” Owlcorn mused, sitting on her shoulder as he talked. “B-but Owlcorn, w-what if what they’re spitting is venomou-AHH!” Cream Puff screamed as one of them came up to her and started spraying her and Owlcorn with paint. Within seconds, they were both covered and Cream Puff ran for her life, shooting random jellies from her wand back at the little thing that chased her. But her efforts were pointless, she couldn’t seem to start up her Jellious Extremo spell properly. So instead, she held onto Owlcorn protectively, and screamed as she ran through the empty city.

(His face went red. How did Bubblegum know about that? Well, he’d already made it obvious that he was embarrassed, Bubblegum could probably tell just by his actions. He laughed nervously and looked away.)

Bubblegum seemed to be regaining confidence, and losing the whole bashful motif, which was how he preferred to be!  “No, no.  Word gets around quickly in town!  There’s word floating around you flirt with any dude!  Now, I’m not sure if that’s slander or not, but so far it’s proving to be true.”

I… (Soda had been struck silent for a moment.) …I …guess? Love is really just doing cool things and having fun with someone you like, like destroying stuff or making out. That’s what i’m assuming, anyway. None of that ‘Notebook’ crap, like you said. (He grinned a little. He didn’t really know, either, but oh well.) But hey, we could try it? If you’re not down with it we’ll pretend it didn’t happen..

“Well you can try anything!”  Bubblegum said proudly, “But, this is a bit weird given the circumstances.  Me vandalizing the ocean, you scolding me, and here we are.”  He put his hand behind his head and laughed sheepishly, “Unless this is one of your weird fantasies or something.”

“I thought it was a good idea…”  He shrugged and jumped in the water, being sure to splash Knight Cookie.  “Help me get the harder to reach spots!!”

“Ah- don’t splash me, young man… You’re doing this yourself. I’m the one who feeds and grooms this horse every day.” Knight frowned at Bubblegum. Abrax slowly stepped into the water, but refused to go deeper than his knees.

“I think you’re discriminating against short people, pops!” Bubblegum called and kicked some water onto Abrax, “Would you like to try again???”

“Someone doesn’t know how to live.”  He followed after the knight anyways, “The paint tastes pretty good, I don’t see what you’re so reluctant on!  But, I’ll take that as a compliment!”  Bubblegum grinned, “I try to be unique!”

“Well love is like playing paint twister, right?  Your bodies are mangled, party music is playing, and your parents are yelling, right?”  He clearly didn’t understand any concept of romance, “Because that ‘Notebook’ stuff seems way too cheesy, and yeck!!”  He gagged.

“I dunno, I’m just more confused if anything!”

“It comes right off.”  Bubblegum wiped some off and put it in his mouth, “It’s tasty too!”  He spoke with his hand in his mouth, “You can try it if you want!!”

“… I’d… Rather not. Thank you.” Knight stared at Bubblegum, “You’re certainly something, young lad. I’ve had my fair share of rascal street artists, but you’re one of a kind… Now come on, I’m going to lead Abrax to some water and you’re going to wash him off. It’ll be easier than licking it all off if that’s what you’re suggesting.”

“Whoa, dude, I’m like twelve!”  He was speaking mentally, of course, “Besides, I’m an asshole!!  Or do people just not care anymore?”  He asked as he shuffled to put his helmet back on.  This entire situation was just getting him flustered and bashful at this point.
