Love the sneakiness of Vex saying Percy will just have to deal with them going ahead with the resurrection only for it to be revealed that while they were astral projecting she’d clearly told Percy what was going on, got her legendary weapon she won from an archfey, and set up soldiers around and within the house in case Delilah came back. She so easily played into the Hell’s perception of the two of them, like she genuinely did want to help them and do what she could to rectify Laudna’s death and Percy genuinely was more cautious and less willing to do anything that could potentially risk bringing Delilah back, but she also knew that’s all BH’s had seen of the two of them and they don’t know how they operate, don’t know how much she also hates Delilah Briarwood, or the trust she and Percy have in each other, how good they are at balancing off each other, and she was absolutely going to use that to her advantage in case Delilah did come back.
I adore the implication that Lord and Lady de Rolo have perfected the Good Cop Bad Cop routine with strangers, where one of them will always portray themselves as the calm, understanding one and the other will be more stand-offish and harsh (both Percy and Vex can fulfil either role) in order to obtain information.
Of course with Bell’s Hells, it wasn’t such a simple routine because of the added trauma it brought but they were still able to use it to their advantage and keep each other in the loop at all times.
A good huntress brings her prey to the perfect spot. She’s a Ranger/Rouge for a reason.
