Commission with copics and gold leaf on xpressit blending card.
Inktober Day 9 & 10 - Precious and Flowing. Like a river flowing came a stream of roses, growing.
Inktober Days 7 & 8 - ‘Exhausted’ and ‘Star’
Inktober Days 5 & 6, ‘Chicken’ and ‘Drooling’. These are getting messier but I am really liking being able to just throw my ideas onto a page and not worry too much about making it perfect. It’s good practice to be doing something every day. It’s also good to be sticking to a theme.
Inktober Days 3 & 4, ‘Roasted’ and ‘Spell’. So far so good this year around, but that’s very easy to say on day 5. Drawn with copics on Xpressit Blending Cards. Day 3 is so far my favourite of the lot.
Inktober Days 1 & 2, respectively. ‘Poisonous’ and ‘Tranquil’. I’m going to likely stick to the theme this month. though there is a real possibility I won’t get all the way though, I plan to just have fun with it. These are each drawn on the same Xpressit Blending Card, just with some little borders drawn up. So the dimensions are about 12x9cm each, rather small, but it makes it easier for me to finish.
The Battle of the Bastion, before and during. Finished page from an upcoming short story I am working on.
One panel in a short series I am working on.
Owl with goldleaf and custom goldleaf halo, commission for a friend.
Owl Companions. Older character rehashed with some new friends and flowers.
This was from a few nights passed. I purchased some new paper months ago and buried it during a house move, only to find it again just recently. These are X-Press It Blending Cards, which I have discovered to be absolutely amazing to use markers on for a number of reasons - the “bleed” that markers often exhibit is non-existent, it maintains true colours, where as other papers I have found dulled the tones and pigments I was using and it is easier on the markers, they don’t draw as much ink and I negate the risk of a spillage. Anyway, that’s my two cents. This is Ned Kelly, the infamous Australian bush ranger, wearing uggies and holding two chickens.
Revisiting a piece of interest by German Expressionist, Otto Dix and his work from Der Krieg - Shock Troops (stormtroopers?) Advance under Gas. I had a few sketches lying around and have been investigating WW1 themes for private work and opted to take some time-out to work on this and clear my head at the same time. Copics and Microns.
“Journey” - A commission for a friend who was going through a tough time. It’s never too late for a journey to start, with a willful mind and an open heart.
An extension on the patrol in the dust-bowl. Three Gen-2 Automatons and one refurbished Gen-1 AC Drone happen across the remains of dissident civilian.
Last night warm-up. Just dorking around.
“Patrolling the dust bowl”. A small warm-up sketch from tonight. The Australian $2 coin for scale.
