Maybe you know me online as Junestar. Maybe you don't know me at all! In that case hi, welcome, good to meet you, one and all. I have a 2013 Dodge Avenger. I'm still making payments and owe around $7,000 left on it.

Here's where it gets interesting. Distressing, even.

While the Avenger has more or less been a decent enough car the transmission on it is SHOT. Broken! Gone from this world and onto the car parts afterlife. To get it replaced costs at least $3,000+tax. Now, the Avenger has other issues, some sort of weird electrical problems I've been hoping would naturally go away on their own but haven't yet. The other option is as follows, buy a "side of the road" car for cheap. Something that can get me, reliably, to and from work (about a 24 mile commute) each day without... You know... Also joining the car parts afterlife or putting ME in the afterlife, either!

I'm not asking for money to get myself out of the tight grip of car payments, that's a bed I've made and I'm willing to lie in it (even if mechanical failure is a very sad, uncomfortable bed), but I am asking for money to get something decent enough to drive while I finish making payments on the Avenger.

Why is this an emergency? Because I work 24 miles away from where I live in an extremely rural area. I don't have access to uber or taxis or trains to get to and from work everyday! My mom will only let me use her car for so long, and who can blame her! She has a life she wants to lead too!

Hugo’s Species Lore! All About The Hertzians:

Hugo’s alien species are called Hertizans, after the unit of frequency, Hertz. The term is used most frequently in connection with alternating electric currents, electromagnetic waves (light, radar, etc.), and sound. This is important to note, as this species literally functions off of different waves and frequencies. Their brainwaves are much more sensitive than humans, and any small changes could be harmful or helpful to a Hertzian. Each Hertizan has a specific equilibrium they need to keep, else they could experience symptoms such as vertigo/dizziness, confusion/disorientation, overstimulation, and erratic behavior, such as a total personality change or mood swings. Due to the delicate nature of their being, any prolonged major changes to their equilibrium could also result in things such as deafness, comas, or even death.

However, if not too extreme a change, the equilibrium can be restored with specific frequencies, often produced by music. Each Hertzian has their own preference. Most wear specialized earplugs or headphones when visiting other planets. This technology allows them to filter out most outside noises of certain decibels while being able to hear important sounds, such as a voice. Hertizans can use their sensitive hearing to their benefit, however, as they have such advanced hearing that they can hear things that humans can’t, hear things from further away, and differentiate people from their footsteps alone. They can go without their protective equipment for a bit, but will then have to recalibrate/readjust back to their specific frequency.

Hertzians can also utilize echolocation, as that uses vibrations, which in turn uses frequencies. They also can see a wider color vision than humans, due to sensitive sight and having an expanded capacity to see the color/electromagnetic spectrum. They also, in turn, have night vision, can see heat signatures/have infrared vision. Their language is very hard for others to understand, as it sounds like various tones/sounds that can be incomprehensible or unable to be heard by other species. Because of this, the language is good for codes. Each Hertzian has a specific sound that represents their name, which is why they often take on nicknames that are more easily understandable. This is why Hugo took on a human name. They also are able to use light signals, something which can be easier to figure out or understand if someone catches onto the patterns.

Tony was named after her dad, Antonio, but he goes by Anthony sometimes to come off as more “American”. They’re proud of their heritage, of course, despite that.

Italian is her second language, but she’s still very fluent in it. She often uses it with older relatives and to speak to her family or other friends who understand it when she doesn’t want people to know what she’s saying.

Tony has what she describes as “having a bad jaw”. The condition arose from being punched in the jaw when she was younger and still a delinquent, but its effects have been rather permanent. Her speech isn’t very clear and can come off as slurred or sounding “mushy”. She often massages it or applies heat/cold to it to help. It does act up on occasion, but she works through the pain as best as she can.

She’s absolutely street smart, but tends to avoid anything regarding book smarts. She doesn’t like to read, especially aloud, because she’s worried people will think she’s stupid. She’s got a reading disability that’s not diagnosed on account of the time period she’s from.

She didn’t go to school much either, (skipped often), mostly due to her disdain and confusion of the subjects. She felt too scared to ask for help at the time and would rather struggle now as an adult than ask for help in a public space, especially due to the scrutiny she could find herself under.

She also has a math disability that’s also not diagnosed. She especially finds it hard to count change, so she tries to calculate the price before going to the register. She spends a lot of time at the store due to this, and will often bypass getting certain items so she can have exact change to give to the clerk.

She enjoys collecting things as a hobby. She has everything from baseball caps, bottle caps, postcards, and keychains. She also is very sentimental and tends to keep things like birthday cards and notes written to her in a box under her bed. She pulls them out to read on bad days sometimes.
