just want to make it clear that i do not support usa hockey in any way, and have grown a new hatred for every player on that men’s team (for the ones i didn’t hate before)
hockey is such an important sport in my life, but watching the nhl feels like a chore. with the way it’s going backwards in terms of inclusion, and players so openly supporting that p*dophile and partying with the director of the fbi, the disappointment cannot be put into words.
i granted some players the benefit of the doubt in the beginning, but all that has gone away after this tournament. and yes, i’m talking about the h*ghes brothers. although they do not state their political views openly (not true anymore), their friendship with the t*achucks and other players that are vocal in their support of the orange man says it all. it is majorly disappointing yet not surprising.

editing this after that video and all that has gone on in the last 24 hours to say that the men’s team following female athletes and taking photos with the women’s team means nothing when there’s a video of them laughing at a joke made at the women’s teams expense (by the fucking president mind you). especially when ellen hughes works for the women’s team and has two sons on the men’s. deleting stories means nothing. no amount of backtracking will erase what’s already been done.
they’ve all made it very clear as to what side they’re on, and to anyone that believes politics doesn’t belong in sports is dead wrong.
