âYouâre my age or younger, which automatically means you are in the computer era.â Skye rolled her eyes. âIâm just not used to meeting anyone from my generation who is technologically inept. Twenty-one? Niceâ I was right.â She smirked. âIâm twenty-three.â
"I guess I'm just not that interested in all of it. I'd rather spend my days doing something where I have to use my hands or something. I can't imagine spending my night in front of that small screen." He shrugged, starting to doubt himself a little because of her words. "Well, you met one now. You are older? You don't look it."
murdockhq:
âWell, memories with my dad are⌠good and bad. But he was a good guy.â sure, and you didnât rush to say that at all, did you matt? his face flushes with a little bit of embarrassment, and he quickly manages to try and save the situation by adding, âItâs okay, really. Not everyone has good memories, so I get that you shouldnât assume. Plus,â he tacks on, in an attempt to lighten the atmosphere, âyou know what they say about assuming. Er - I donât really know why my dad boxed. It always impressed me when I was little, you know? When he was my hero. But then I grew up and⌠it was dangerous? He was in danger? I dunno.â he manages to recover briefly again before adding, âYeah, he⌠he didnât have a choice towards the end. Itâs alright, honestly.â he cracks a smile. âI can see why you wouldnât guess every stranger on the street is visually impaired.â
"I guess every family has their issues." Bucky smiled softly, knowing that his family life wasn't always that great but he also lost his parents at a young age so it's not like he had much experience with it as he had to grow up faster than any kid his age back then. "Yeah, I got it. Of course, you look up to your dad, no matter what so having him do such a sport and then win occassionally, you're going to be happy and call him your hero. As a kid you just don't see the danger in it." He couldn't really say that he understood the whole story but the tone of the guy's voice made it clear that it was still something tough to talk about so Bucky didn't want to pressure the guy to say more. "I'm sorry." It was all he could bring out for now. "Not sure if I'm allowed to laugh with that."
marvelouscarol:
âNo problem⌠Might want to give dickbag a call, could be a dickbag emergency of some sort.â
"Maybe. Most of the time it's not really important. He'll call back if he really needs me."
phceniix:
â i do, is it really that bad? â
"no, it's not bad. i guess i'm just surprised that it takes a little thing like roses to make you excited."
rxd-hood:
Hesitation grabbed hold of Jason. On one hand, a job- a real, stable job- could allow him to stop his⌠extracurricular activities. On the other hand, this man could simply be pulling the wool over his eyes, just like _she _did so long ago. But Jason knew this was a one time offer, if how the other man was talking was indicative of anything. So, Jason made a rash decision.¡âOkay.â
Seeing the hesitation on the guyâs face, Bucky wasnât sure if he would take the offer but he didnât want to pry in the guyâs business. As soon as he heard a positive answer, he looked up and smiled.¡âAnd here I thought you were going to turn it down. But alright, just come by the garage tomorrow and weâll settle it all. Iâm James, by the way. But most people call me Bucky.â
jincks:
âLooking so good, and nowhere to go. An absolute travesty. Why donât people go crazy on Presidentâs Day?â
"I'm sure you can find a place to go to. Because it probably isn't all that important to them."
dualwcilding:
âso what is it you americanâs do for fun? i saw a lot of drama and gossip when i watched your television shows, i hope for your sake it isnât like that because my emotions usually get projected into violence.â
"yeah, those tv shows aren't really what we americans do. it's all made up to make it more interesting, i guess."
marvelouscarol:
âIs this your phone? If so, âDO NOT CALL THIS DICKBAGâ called you about five times.â
"Yeah, thanks. I thought I'd lost it. Right, that's just a little joke. Sort of."
jeweliisms:
â and nothing is stopping you from showing some common human decency. oh wait, something isâ youâre an ASS. â
"you did this to yourself so why would i show some sympathy? i'm the ass?! good one."
bcbbiiimcrse:
Bobbi smiled, nodding her head. âI do actually. Itâs nice here. Nice enough, at least.
"Better than home, I'm assuming?"
shadcwcats:
âWasnât that something that brought joy to your exhausted lives? Iâm just not really into anything, where you get shouted at and humiliated in front of twenty other poor souls, not to mention the dying part. Maybe I just like getting to know people? Or perhaps I enjoy listening to their stories, you can choose what youâd like to believe.â
"It was alright. A little entertainment is never bad. Yeah, I get it now, that you don't feel all that happy about it. But for me it was just to serve my country and get ready to protect it against some major threats. Well, I didn't die. Just lost my arm. If you say so. I was only wondering why you seemed so interested."
ecrthqvake:
âWhat? Youâre not that outdated, yet you donât know what Facebook is? Seriously suspect, donât you think?â Skye rolled her eyes. For all she knew, he really was from the 1940â˛s. Weirder things had happened. âWell, James, itâs not that Facebook stuff younginâs like myself pour their time intoâ seriously, how old are you?â She squinted at him. âYou look younger than me.â
"As I said before, I'm not that good with technology. I just know how to use my phone and that's enough for me. You think I'm suspicious? Why? I'm just not one of those people from the computer era, like you are." He shrugged, not really seeing the big deal in all of this. "If you say so... I'll take your word for it. You seem so interested in me all of a sudden." Bucky raised his brow. "Younger than you? Come on... I'm 21."
murdockhq:
âWhy would it reminding me of my dad make it a bad movie? Anyway, he was a boxer. That was how he died, sort of. In a way. I donât like to think about it, really. But to answer your question, Iâm perfectly fine with blood - I just donât like watching people with jobs beat each other up and call it boxing when they donât need it to survive - boxing was my dadâs job, and he didnât have a choice when to beat or get beat on. Er - sorry. I havenât watched it because Iâm blindâŚâ
"I don't know. It sounded like you had bad memories because of it. But I guess that's just what I assumed. Right, I'm sorry about that. Yeah, boxing is still kind of a sport and people just do it because they enjoy it, i guess. I've never really seen the appeal of it but i guess it can be a good way to get rid of your anger. And you know movies, they like to go overboard. How come he didn't have a choice? Blind? Oh shit, I'm sorry. I didn't realise."
rachelrxth:
âGlad to hear itâs nothing serious.â
"I'm not really sure what should be bothering me. I have to admit that I'm a little curious as to how you can feel that..."
