Hoping to find some peace of mind, Bucky wandered outside of the building just to find a lonely brunette standing there lost in thought.

‘She saved me, I remember that. Steve told me she was sent to the raft prison along with the others.’

A breeze passed by revealing her back to Bucky; just enough for him to see the scars on her back.

‘Is that how she got those scars? What did they do to her?’

“They struck me with electrical rods until I passed out.” Her voice startled him. Before he could ask how, she interrupted. “Sorry, that was rude. But your thoughts were too loud for me to ignore.”

She turned around to meet his gaze and Bucky saw just how much the raft tormented her. Not only did she have the scars on her shoulder and arm, she had bruises and welts on her neck and wrists. Her eyes were empty with bags under them, but even then she offered him a small smile.

“We never officially met. My name is Wanda Maximoff.” She said as she offered her hand.

“I’m James Barnes” Grasping her hand in his, he noticed how she flinched at the contact.

“It’s nice to officially meet you James.”

“You too. Thank you for your help and I’m sorry for what they did to you. I’m sure you didn’t deserve any of this.”

Her smile grew wider. “Thank you.”
