Chris has always been Eddie's heart and Eddie's priority, but he's also been Eddie's shield. If Eddie wants to say something emotional or something about how he's feeling, he often hides behind Chris.

He did it when he was scared to let Shannon back into their lives (and he was scared of being hurt again). He did it when he missed Buck during the law suite (do you know how much Christopher misses you?). He did it with his will (making Buck understand how deeply Eddie trusts and loves him through the lens of Buck being who Eddie trusts with Chris). He did it when he dated Ana (My kid loves her).

But now Eddie's alone. Chris is gone. Eddie has no shield, he just has himself - raw and exposed. He can't hide behind Chris when Chris isn't there. Eddie has to make choices for himself. Eddie has to learn to ask for what he wants and what he needs.

I see we're all ruminating and well I personally today was thinking about Buck in the pilot episode being yeah gross and unprofessional but also looking for something he’d been looking for his whole life and being like so can I have your number 🥺🥺🥺 did I do a good enough job for you to like me and stick around 🥺🥺🥺 like literally one of the first times you see him and he’s asking someone to stay. he had all this empty space waiting for love and all of this devotion in his big giant heart looking for someone to give it to and then the first time someone he liked wanted more from him in a real way he was like 👀😊❤️❤️🤩💐🎈😳 🍞🗣️💨😵🥰 💕🫂 but then she ghosted my best friend Buck. and he had nowhere to put his devotion and he wasn’t getting anything in return either……. but then he met His best friend Eddie (also my other best friend) who told him he was good enough and basically promised to stick around and he did the same and they didn’t know it then but that was basically a magic blood pact… and well you know the rest…. but anyway don’t even try to talk crap about season 1 Buck in front of me 👊😐
