A rapscallion from the shadows of Virbank City, Ess made an honest attempt at doing... something with their life by studying to become an entomologist. Proving their academic mind and getting a degree, they were then immediately smacked down to the bottom of the barrel, left to rot on the streets.

Their general view of society is overall bitter, but they have an almost devil-may-care attitude when talking to their pokemon. Other human beings aren't given quite as much grace, the lil' guy treating them coldly or even with open hostility depending on mood.
