I mean, you realize I’m sitting at my desk getting teary-eyed because I can’t wrap my brain around the fact that someone thinks something I created is really good, right? That the weight of my crippling self-doubt being lifted for a bit feels so wonderful that I can’t adequately describe it in words?

It’s been exactly one year since we lost you and I cannot believe it.

I miss you so much that it’s painful at times.

Sometimes I can’t remember what you looked like or what you sounded like and I’m terrified that one day I’ll forget everything about you.

I still haven’t processed the fact that you’re gone and you can never come back.

I don’t think I’ll ever process it, to be quite honest.

If I would have known that I wouldn’t see you again, I would have hugged you a little tighter and said ‘I love you’ a little louder, just to make sure you knew how much you meant to me.
