We are a family from Gaza… welcoming this Ramadan with heavy hearts and empty tables.

We no longer think about special dishes or decorations for the holy month; instead, we worry about finding a single loaf of bread to ease our children’s hunger, and medicine to relieve the pain of our sick loved ones.

At iftar time, silence fills our home. We hide our tears behind faint smiles so our little ones do not feel the weight of our helplessness.
