I don’t talk ab Jack a lot and it’s a shame. Yeah, sure, he’s a jerk and yeah he does some questionable stuff and has questionable opinions, but like… he’s literally in the middle of his redemption arc the second he officially gets introduced in the story. He’s still growing, he’s made big sacrifices to get where he is in his growth already. Morally grey but going the right way

Lucas and Cassandra experience stress in VERY different ways. Lucas is usually calm, but gets stressed very easily by mundane things AND high risk situations. When he’s stressed, it’s very noticeable. He actively seeks out comfort and gets physically and mentally very restless.

Cassandra doesn’t get overly stressed that easily, but experiences a low level of stress almost every day. Her stress is more likely to stem from internalised stuff out external direct triggers. It causes her to keep more to herself and be avoidant, but it’s barely visible to the outside world.

Their stressful situations barely overlap, since Cas gets overproductive in high risk situations and is able to reassure Lucas through those times, and Lucas is capable of comforting Cas when there’s no direct danger.

But WHEN there’s a situation where they’re BOTH stressed. It gets really hard on them to meet each other’s needs. Cassandra gets hyper rational and closed off and Lucas overly emotional and clingy. It clashes so bad

I think Lucas and Cassandra becoming friends is a miracle on its own. Because at their time of meeting, they were both… very socially anxious. And neither wanted to get to know the other. And they avoided talking to each other for WEEKS while travelling together. And neither took initiative to keep in touch when they actually got along. And they’re both awfully introverted.

And now they cling together like what’s going on here

I feel like the way Michael sees life is like watching an anthill as a human. He stands above it, he’s just watching the ants trying to fulfil their purpose. He knows he could just squash them and they wouldn’t be able to do anything. He might put up obstacles or cause danger just to see how they react. What else is he supposed to do? There’s no one else like him, no other human, to interact with. He’s bored. So he bullies ants because there’s nothing else to do.

Or that’s what it feels like to him anyway

One of Lucas’ basic needs is to be treated like a small dude every now and then. Not a child, but a physically small dude. He just wants to be hugged and held and to be put in someone’s pocket okay

Nothing fills me with greater joy than repairing my broken mechanical pen. The whole process of trying to find what went wrong, seeing the whole mechanism being blocked by one small piece, finding the right stuff to pry it out without damaging the rest… it’s so good

Ok yeah platonic intimacy between Lucas and Cassandra is great and all but… platonic intimacy between Lucas and Shai??? These two are roommates for a few months/a year and my brain is becoming mush about how they treat each other ;o;
